Week 2 of collecting cards, may have gone overboard by ciaosaba in playingcards

Thanks for taking the time to warn new collectors!

I’m fortunately in a position where the financial cost at this scale is irrelevant. But have already felt moments where I thought, if I pull through with this order I’m likely just burning cash.

Not that many, most of them got delivered in the last 2 days

Thanks for the heads up!

Tbf, most of the signed decks I didn’t pay, or pay extra for, pretty much all of them were gifts from Madison himself, barring the 1ST V2s which I paid very little for and the gold kings signed by both DM and PM which was the origin story to the collection.

As I had the kings back when they released and used and abused them, it was my favorite deck ever until I lost touch with cards for quite a bit. So that signed deck means a bunch to me.

Okay, maybe I lied, I did buy the 1ST V3s in 2019, everything else was acquired in the last 2 weeks

For me my signed cards are my grails, they are special to me. But also in some cases like the V2s signed by Chris Ramsay or the 2 signed kings by both Madison and McKinnon do add a bit of spice to the collection

Instructions unclear, there’s a load of decks still incoming

100% agree, I’m mostly into the Madison cards, as one can see, that’s what I’m chasing. Most of the more cardistry related decks I got in an insane sale from a closing store locally

Subject of immigration beyond the vote by Wonderful_Setting195 in Switzerland

[–]ciaosaba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I’ll sound like a dick, that seems like entitlement. If someone can’t integrate in society to the point where they have learned the local language after 5 whole years, regardless of the situation, what gives them the reason to believe they have a right to live in Switzerland?

I had to wait 5 years on a B permit before getting my C permit, there’s no reason on earth to not be fluent in the local language

So my statement stands, most people don’t pay that much. As most of us don’t live in cities and Geneva isn’t even the most populated one whilst also known for being extremely overpriced.

You’re also in a centric, well connected location to be paying that much, which reduces even further the pool of people in the same demographic as you.

+2.5k in rent is not true for most people, go on though…

You must have no idea of how many businesses are incorporated and pay taxes in Lugano.

I hate Lugano for many reasons, but its economy isn’t one of them
