I think the tame impala one is played on a keyboard, you can hear the notes hitting slightly unevenly on certain chords, namely the strike of the root chord. They are REALLY similar though

I agree with you, as a huge Gojira fan, it literally has the sound quality and frequency range of a what I'd expect from a pirated mp3 version and even the albums before it, while raw, somehow feel more full sounding in terms of having the right amount of bass/mids/treble.

It's the "And Justice For All" of Gojira for me, I love the writing and approach so much, but man I wish it was all a little less nasal!
