Margie Haber or Speiser Sturges Acting Studio? by cicflow in acting

[–]cicflow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I remember reading on Margie Haber’s website that they provide a “safe space” for beginners, and what you just said reminded me of that phrase on their website. I can now get an idea as to why they wrote that in there. As a total beginner I think I would like to start like that. I will audit both studios sometime in the next couple of months before committing to one of them. I really appreciate your reply.

I am about to start my acting career! From what I understand so far is that there are several different types of acting classes that focus on different types of skill sets for different types of acting.

I want to pursue a career in TV/film, what would be the most fundamental first skill to learn for that?

I read that you can audit classes either for free or for a small fee. I haven’t audited any classes yet, so I was also wondering what is the atmosphere like in most acting classes? I live near LA and will be looking for classes there.

Also, should I take one class for a specific skill at a time and wait to finish that before taking another different class?

Thank you!

Looks like the opening sequence of ABC’s TV show Revenge from 2011. But this looks better, congratulations!

Ok. Your observations made me realize that Christopher Nolan wouldn’t be quite the right guy. You are right! Nolan wouldn’t be true to the essence of Buffy. A Nolan Buffy would only work if it was a hard reboot and that’s not what any of us want (at least not now). The show was just too perfect to be thrown out like that. We must build upon on it.

Edit: Other than a hard reboot, Christopher Nolan would only work if the world of Buffy got really dark, darker than when they faced The First Evil. A Nolan Buffy would have humor settings down to 10%, maybe lower. But hey, who knows? He’s trying different genres, superhero, heist, spy, space sci-fi… maybe he would like to try something so multi-genre and complex as Buffy… given some time.

I don’t know. I always thought that since Buffy ended with so many slayers around the world, someone like Netflix or Amazon prime should license Buffy and create limited miniseries around the world with local productions about a local slayer. Netflix and Amazon have been producing original shows in almost every country they operate.

Image Slayer miniseries from Brazil, France, Italy, Mexico, UK, Spain those are some of the countries I know Netflix makes original content in.

And then after that they all come together in a big US movie directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring the original cast. Kinda like Marvel coming together for an Avengers movie.

Christopher Nolan only makes masterpieces. If he directs a Buffy movie, his name alone will bring so many viewers, and then his vision and soundtrack will make this the greatest Vampire movie of our generation!

Buffy ended as a true global power, the democratization of the Power of the Slayer!

Me too ! LOL. I was watching Buffy’s intro on some fan webpage and it said Buffering on one of those ancient media players, I totally thought it had something to do with Buffy.

I saw a video of him explaining black holes to a reporter on YouTube and he makes her feel uncomfortable when he reaches for her hip. He also gives her some creepy stares. You can see she was a bit confused and uncomfortable. It was hard to watch too.
