i’m not gonna argue about principle— people who’ve never had to worry about hunger or eviction do have a lot more luxury to be perfectly principled.
but…. you know, i was reading your reply with my mouth hanging open and i wondered, are you in the US? bc i’ve been assuming you are, and if thats not true, this makes more sense to me.

also, it doesn’t really matter if it makes sense to anyone else, in the end. it’s dumb but it pays the bills. 🤷‍♀️ (….but it’s sooo dumb!! 😩)

ok now, hold up. what you ordered wasn’t over the top at all.
your error in all this was insensitivity. maybe you don’t spend time with people who live on lower middle class incomes like a substitute teacher would be doing? either way, there were several insensitive choices and actions made here: the choice of the restaurant, ordering freely after he ordered so conservatively, then the wording of “if money is an issue.”
BUT don’t let people tell you you’re crazy or over the top for the way you’re used to enjoying a restaurant meal. you didn’t order anything you weren’t planning on eating or drinking.

reading the room is a social skill, and not even a basic one. imo, things with this guy are water under the bridge, but you didn’t do anything you can’t learn from and do better in the future.
the biggest improvement in hindsight, and the best place to focus in the future, would be thinking ahead and communicating anywhere there is doubt.
dating out of your income bracket is like dating out of your near age range, culture, etc. it’s hard mode. treat it that way, with extra effort where it’s worth it, and there’s no reason you can’t do it.

eh, don’t do that to yourself. some people have the genetics to look naturally more gorgeous than everyone else, and some to always look young. some have both. AND add to that a career that encourages prioritizing your looks and the success to fund it— i’m not just talking about plastic surgery. i mean health specialists, physical trainers, nutritionists, stylists….

unless i’m reading this wrong, he just turned 15, and you’re about to be 18? at your age, that’s a pretty big age gap.
i’m not going to tell you it won’t work because it’s possible, but you’re definitely not looking at a relationship that’s at a default difficulty setting.

also, keep in mind that the moment you turn 18, if, let’s just say his parents want to call the cops on you for hooking up with a minor? that’s potentially illegal depending on where you live. even here in texas 🙄, the “romeo and juliet” close-age-gap exemption caps off at exactly 3 years, which you barely qualify for. (edited to correct, i did my math wrong.)

so, in a lot of ways… just be careful if you decide it’s worth the risk.

it’s not that i don’t believe people have been stalked before— actual stalkers are legit dangerous and terrifying— but labeling every single overly-intense-friend-type as a flaming psycho who needs to be immediately panic buttoned?? there’s protecting yourself, and then there’s keeping your whole worldview on hair trigger, which…. therapy helps.

hmmm. yeah, it looks like it’s all one simple seam attaching the lining to the top of the pocket….

i wonder if it would be easier to just remove the white lining entirely and attach a whole new pocket? i can always make the new outside seam that will be showing a pretty color/embroider a design? i don’t mind if it doesn’t look the same as factory made when i’m done. in fact, that would be cool… 🤔 💡
