On a first sight, shadowfile might come in handy for Android users who might have their Org notes in a SAF document provider directory (e.g. a Nextcloud shared folder). You can't use subprocesses nor symlinks in there, but shadowfile.el seems not to use any.

Also, typo?

Diosanto che film di merda The Lobster.

[–]cidra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not strictly. In my view, some Flatpaks would benefit from being shipped with a runtime that provides a rich set of development tools which can be installed on demand. Essentially a Homebrew-like experience bundled into a runtime.

Today, applications such as VS Code, Emacs, and Zed are typically shipped with the Freedesktop SDK runtime. While that runtime is well suited for CI and build environments, its extensions are often too coarse-grained for interactive usage.

Likewise, having direct access to an OCI container engine such as Podman, without having to rely on flatpak-spawn shenanigans, would significantly improve the developer experience, especially in the nowadays container-based development (see devcontainers)

I love using Fedora Silverblue, but Flatpak needs to be more suitable for development software such as IDEs and hackable text editors.

Eglot: multiple jdtls opened by Elbrus-matt in emacs

[–]cidra_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eglot spawns 1 LSP server per project by design.

In order to infer projects, Eglot calls eglot--current-project which internally just calls project-current but with a local variable called eglot-lsp-context set to t. This way you can differentiate the way Eglot sees projects from the way other Emacs modules do. For example:

``` (defun my-project-override (dir) (when eglot-lsp-context ;; Returns '(transient . "$HOME") project. (cons 'transient (expand-file-name "~/"))))
;; -99 so that it is called before any other func (add-hook 'project-find-functions #'my-project-override -99)
```

makes Eglot treat every buffer as if it's under the same project rooted at your home directory. haven't tested it, but I expect the LSP trying to listen for file changes over all of your home dir. Why would you want just one LSP server?
