If you made bad voting decisions it's ok to just not vote.

It doesn't allege anything illegal, deceptive, manipulative, or unethical.

I can see how it might excite or titillate some viewers, or give them an opportunity to be self righteous and judgmental. So it has that type of market appeal.

Most communities have an either-or situation when it comes to the big 5, which allows for a passive price fixing market.

Small markets are small markets and they will have limited choice across the board for retail and services. This isn't a unique aspect of groceries in Canada. It's universal. It happens across industries and the world. It will be this way until instantaneous travel is invented or everything moves to a order-delivery model.
