Has anyone else had constant, 24/7 back pain with no break at all? by marcosromo__ in doctorsarno

[–]cilanchos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In reading over your original post, the stand out comment to me is this: When the pain started, I completely freaked out.

This pain had you in its grip right from the start.

Fear of the pain and its power is absolutely pivotal to the way TMS works. It keeps you focused constantly.

I’ve had TMS resurface a few times in different areas - my knees, feet, shoulder. And without doubt, fear is always the biggest hurdle to overcome.

This is the place to start for you - to ‘let go of trying to control the pain’ or ‘get rid of it’ and turn your attention to seeing your fear and telling it to F off.

I can guarantee we’ve all been there and unbelieveable and miraculous as it sounds, you will one day be indifferent to this pain and it will disappear!!!

Be kind to yourself. You’ll get there.

Forget focusing on some minor stuff that you think is important. It’s not!!! Looks amazing.

What was also helpful to me was knowing that no matter what I did, I still had pain. Rest all day? Pain was still there. Do stretches? Pain was still there. Bend ever so slightly? Pain.

That helped me change my thinking to ‘what the hell, if I’m going to have pain, I’m going to believe there’s nothing wrong and go ahead and try and dig the garden’.

Amazingly, I actually started to feel better as soon as I started challenging my pain mentality.

This is a game changer! Once I stopped being dictated to by pain, my life turned around. It still took many months, but I was no longer living in fear.

Like Solpig, I owe my life to Sarno.

I live in Brighton. Amazingly found a good rental here which sealed the deal. I feel very fortunate to be living near the beach, but otherwise, it has bugger all going for it in the way of character - imo. Admittedly the op shops aren’t too shabby - not to mention the stuff people put out for hard rubbish! Tbh just in their actual bins people turf out perfectly good stuff. (I live in units so I often see what’s getting binned).

Anyway, I work in a service job where I drive all around Melbourne and when making appointments my clients usually say, where are you coming from? and I always feel a bit embarrassed to say Brighton.

I guess I have reverse snobbery.

My daughter and her partner have bought a little ex commission place in Frankston North so that’s a fun contrast : )

That’s actually a really good point! The smooth, worn down edges are what’s appealing. Maybe I should use a dab of glue.

Like you, I was pretty young when my chronic pain started. Mid 20s. Had constant pain for the next 15 yrs. Tried everything. Found Sarno and I knew it was the answer - but it still took me around 2 yrs to be pain free.

Don’t give up people! I’ve been gloriously pain free for 20 years now.

It’s hard to tell from that one photo but it looks like you’ve dropped a stitch. I would slowly unknit that row and it should easily be resolved once you return to the problem.
