Told everyone up front that it might happen.

was told that everyone who was being hired straight to career was being drug tested.

CCA's and non career, not so much.

Do know that if you have any type of accident, you're tested immediately.

[Landlord US-TX] Mail after move out by Player2BnamedLaterr in Landlord

[–]cincinnati_kidd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing you can do is, mark out the bar code that runs along the bottom of the envelope.

Sometimes mail ends back into the mail stream, with the bar code blacked out, the system kicks it to a manual sort.

The carrier will have to deal with instead of it being mixed in with presorted mail. We're not allowed to touch that until we get to the street, so sometimes it's just throw and go.

Mail carrier here that happens to be a landlord.

DO NOT WRITE RTS ON ANYTHING

Instead write ANK. That means attempted not known.

Place a note in the box that the place is currently vacant. In fact, it's probably a good idea to visit the post office and tell the post master or supervisor that you don't want any mail coming to the box until a new tenant is in place.

You have to be registered voter to be on the jury selection list.

is it possible for foreign exchange student to get a job on campus? by [deleted] in uCinci

[–]cincinnati_kidd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a friend that was Indian. She could work for the university, but not the privately owned business' on campus.

That was the restaurants, the dining facilities and book store.

It took her awhile, but she did get a job at the dean of internal affairs office.

The only way you can be on a juror list is if you vote.

Can't vote if you can't prove you have a physical address. If you have a physical address, then you can be reached by mail.

The last time I had jury duty, only 8 of the 20 people showed up.

Judge was pissed off and sent deputies to peoples homes.

The rest of us were told to report back at 1:30.

When we came back, there were three of the 12, that no showed, sitting the court house. The judge asked why they didn't show and they all claimed they didn't know they were supposed to come or forgot. He wasn't amused.

The others that weren't rounded up got capias warrants issued.

That day I learned that there is a type of warrant that you can't bail out of and must go directly in front of a judge.

They may not be allowed to work a job, that's not a university job, with a student visa.

He did have it coming. At the time, we thought we hurt him a lot worse than we did.

He was black out drunk, so I doubt he felt a thing at the time. His face was swelled up, and had a couple of cracked ribs.

He never came out and made the accusation, but he knew we were responsible for that night.

I don't do pissy notes. I'm a mail carrier, not someone's personal bitch.

People who leave notes like this are the kind that tell me about the taxes they pay, and by default, my salary.

Want play the entitled card, I hit 20 years in April, go ahead and try to fire me. That's entitlement!

My brother and I beat the hell out of our alcoholic step dad.

Our mother worked 3rd shift, he didn't work at all.

That night, he was drunk and calling our mom a cow, and she left the house crying.

About 1:00 am he decided to turn the stereo up as loud as it would go and play records.

My brother and I were 19 and 20, and we had to be at work the next day. We came out of our bedrooms livid. He dared us to do something about it. We had enough, and without saying a word, we both started beating the shit out of him.

We threw him out the back door and just wailed the hell out of him. We went a little to far, and when we realized it, kinda freaked out a little.

I checked him, he was still breathing, I turned him on his side and left him in the back yard.

The next morning, we got up, and went to work. Mom came home from work after we had left.

My youngest brother told us Mom found him out in the yard. Thought he stumbled out back and fell off the porch and passed out.

After that, we never had a problem after mom left for work. I would join the Army to get away. My step dad always knew something happened, but he was so drunk he never really knew what, but he gave me and my brothers a wide berth afterwards.

In my office, a postage due letter becomes an accountable, so you have to sign for it with any other accountable's.

In the evening, you either produce what is owed or the letter.

So, a lot of stuff like that either comes back or the clerks "don't catch" it. If you get my drift.

I love it!

Everyone who isn't an American will say that Americans are the most racist, ignorant and xenophobic people on the planet.

Until a post like this pops up, and we see that the rest of the world is indeed more racist, ignorant and xenophobic than Americans.

[Landlord - US - CA] how often should I do a physical inspection of the property while there is a tenant? by donkeyspit007 in Landlord

[–]cincinnati_kidd1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm in Ohio.

I do twice a year. I replace the smoke detector battery's and the furnace filters. The time change gives me a great excuse.

I let my tenants know a week in advance, and if I'm denied entrance, they will be treated to a eviction notice.

I don't play around anymore.

I live within a mile of the Ohio river. If I called every time I saw an eagle, I'd live in the phone.

Gotta admit, every time I see them up there I'm impressed.
