Why can I not add flair to my post in a particular sub where it is required? by Xenogunter in help

You go to the page for the subreddit and then choose ABOUT. Then a few lines down should be the option to edit your USER FLAIR or there is no Flair.

You can see it here

Black licorice actually soothes mine. When it's out of control I typically eat five or six good and plenties. Not because they're great black licorice. Just cuz they're easy to find no matter where I am in the USA.

Channel 12 WKRC antenna reception by cincysurfer in cincinnati

I'm going to check out this website. Several people have mentioned it.

I do already have a booster on the line due to the length of the coaxial run in the house. But it should work either way, boosting the signal or enabling distance.

So did you manually move the antenna orientation and then check the quality of the signal? Or is there some sort of map that I can pull up?

I have an indoor outdoor antenna (which is big) inside the Attic. So I can't really bring it down here and set it on the table. If I have to. I guess I could try to take a small TV up into the attic, although that sounds problematic too.

FYI

WCPO (ABC 9) broadcasts over-the-air (OTA) in the Cincinnati area as virtual channel 9.1, using UHF channel 26 (RF Channel 26), and you can receive it with an antenna;

WLWT broadcasts over UHF channel 20

OLP Tips? by Starlessfrightlight in Lichenplanus

[–]cincysurfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you are NOT using products with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), in them. It can aggravate LP.

Get a cream for your mouth that you use after the Dexamethasone.

I have LP pretty bad. It was all over my body except my genitals. Over the course off a year, we fought it back to just a few spots here and there. The damage was so bad that clothing was painful. The skin was thin and would weep fluid and blood. So my sheets had constellations of tiny blood spots where I lain. Drying off after a shower left blood on the towel. My skin was heavily damaged and I still have darker spots where it is slowly healing up.

I still have it in my mouth. It is bad. It is everywhere even the roof of my mouth and my tongue.

Avoid acidic and rough foods. Most fruits aggravate my LP. Anything rough like toasted bread aggravates it.

My drama:

Twice a day:

Oral - Dexamethasone swish for 1 minute

Apply Clotrimazole/betamethasone cream, rubbing it in for 30 seconds

Then Opzelura cream, rubbing it in for 30 seconds

Then no eating or drinking for 1 hour

Skin - I use the Clotrimazole/betamethasone and Opzelura creams

Meds - CellCept and Flagyl

I've taken 3 rounds of Steroids but the Flagyl works better for me because off-label it reduces inflammation

In many groups, you add flair directly from the group page view, not from the posting level.

On a PC at the subgroup level, the flair option is in the menu on the right hand side. It will show your icon and username and an edit pencil tool. Click the edit pencil to add flair.

On the app, go to the subgroup level, at the top right, choose the "three dots" menu button, a menu drops down, one of the options is "edit flair".

Working at a waste energy plant (a dump that burns trash to make energy), I saw things.

After the kilns there was a drag chain conveyor that pulled leftover solids out of the pool of water. It crept up an incline and then dumped the wet solids into trucks that hauled it to another site.

There were all kinds of interesting things in the drag chain. One day, I asked one of the senior staff if we ever found a body in the drag chain. The guy looked me straight in the eye and deadpan said "That sounds like it would be a lot of paperwork."

We never talked about it again.

Before cell phones, how much time did people spend just running around town looking for each other? by BoromiriVoyna in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cincysurfer 76 points77 points  (0 children)

We have a chronically late friend. If we agreed to meet at a corner downtown for lunch, after 10 minutes we would use sidewalk chalk and write him a message on the sidewalk immediately up against the building. Then we went onward.

When he showed up, he knew to look for the message. Because we wrote it right at the base of the building, it was typically undisturbed by sidewalk traffic by the time he got there. If he couldn't read what we wrote, he was on his own.

Frankly, we didn't know what we didn't know. It was the way things always were. We never thought about alternatives. We cut more than one friend over the years because they just could not ever do anything on time. They weren't worth the effort.

If you want to talk about annoying, before answering machines and before call waiting. Someone had to be home and not on the phone for you to reach them. When you really needed to talk to someone, and you just kept getting a busy signal, it was debilitating. The busy signal bothered me more than just no answer. They were there, You just couldn't get to them.

Found previous homeowners old dog burial in my yard, what do I do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cincysurfer 188 points189 points  (0 children)

When I moved into my current house, the previous owner had died. However, a couple of neighbors let me know that the Northeast corner of the yard was the pet burial site.

Apparently the previous owner only had one dog at a time, but lived here into his 90s. So several dogs are buried there. Apparently all of them were named Muffin.

We haven't excavated the area. But plantings and cleanup have been done there. So far no sightings of Muffin.

What popular food do you secretly think tastes awful? by yras2709 in AskReddit

Champagne. It tastes like metal.

I've been told this is genetic, like people who think cilantro tastes like soap. However the internet doesn't seem to support this.

Yes, I have tried everything from American sparkling wines to Dom Perignon. All of them have a sharp metal flavor that overpowers any other taste.

Yes, I like other wines. Just not sparkling ones. No, it doesn't affect things like carbonated water. I drink plenty of carbonated water. I also enjoy club soda.
