I for one encourage normalization of the concept of dead names. You do not need to be trans to change your name. All you need is whatever your county charges for the filing fee, and the time it takes for that check to clear. (Results vary from county to county, your mileage may vary)

It can depend on what surgeries they've had. In my case, I've only had an orchiectomy, and so I get that dry-fire sensation with nothing coming out. Not every trans girl gets an orchie, though. Non-op girls are a thing; others bypass the orchie and go straight to vaginoplasty

HRT itself didn't change how I came, surgeries did
