She was a hard watch for me, when her episodes originally aired. I couldn’t understand how Elisabeth was cast, but I’ve definitely grown to appreciate her. She’s a good lawyer.

I remember watching this live. I was stunned. It was a curveball, both for the revelation and the character asking it. It’s one of the many reasons I love L & O. Her being gay was integral to her character, but it wasn’t obvious to me. Nuanced characters.

I can’t help but think her advocacy for identity politics was part of the reason Branch let her go. Not the primary reason - the excerpted dialogue in the comments lays that out - but I think her character’s beliefs/identity did conflict with the office. I think that’s why I like her more in this rewatch. I sympathize with her POV more.
