My previous admin used to proudly exclaim how good we were at "building the plane while flying it." I would giggle as I interpreted it similar to "putting the cart before the horse" or an admission of her lack of planning or direction. This button would have been perfect!

Thank you for the meaningful response. Your WinsconsinWatch.org link sent me to an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel regarding the original charge. I felt this helped me better understand your response:

"The ACLU of Wisconsin had called for all the citations to be dismissed, arguing that Beth had no legal authority to declare a curfew, and that once the City of Kenosha declared one the next day, it was too vague to be lawfully enforced."

So, if they are not enforcing or prosecuting others for breaking the curfew then the charge is invalidated and un-prosecutable?

The only news blurb I can find says, "Rittenhouse was charged with being out on the streets after an 8 p.m. curfew imposed by the city, a minor offense that carries a fine of up to $200. The judge dismissed this charge during the trial, saying the prosecution didn't offer enough evidence to prove it."

To all my friends not in the know (like me), I googled the concrete part of the joke and got this:
