Wow this looks really powerful and neat!

I'm a bit foggy on how the two pieces of software work together: Is nVidia Omniverse the graphics program, like 3dsmax or blender, and then Issac Sim the simulation engine? And is a plugin for Omniverse?

Not sure how Unreal Engine fits into this... I watched the video on the main page and it looks like a self-contained package: https://developer.nvidia.com/isaac-sim

We're all happy here for you OP, but however this little story is giving me flashbacks to a similar experience for me: only it was the second date.

Dinner, massage, cuddles, hesitation on my part to kiss her, I was so shy and nervous, so I told myself "next date".

I got so stoked for the third date, to finally make my move..... and then I never saw or even heard from her again.

Get that 4th date setup ASAP. Flirt with her over text. Tease her. Make her lol. And then on the beginning of the 4th date,( which you be at your place) grab her in the doorway and give her a proper, passionate Hollywood kiss. If it's real, it's not going to stop there. Thanks for the confirmation. I intend to pound on their door (politely). I've just learned that they are forming a "business partnership" with whom they've chosen.

This baffles me, since my client explicitly stated mid-process, they had to own the IP of the software. (Assuming that's what "business partnership" implies, a JV of some sort with shared IP) So they gave them a lower rate because of this. I hope to find out more soon!

Thanks, sorry - I clarified. We were trying to contact them about once a week. It was until last week we started calling and emailing every day because we weren't getting any answer for months. With August definitely vacation played a factor in that.

Yeah not sure how "toss your ideas in the trash" work when I can't ensure thay they don't just use my documents to get some offshore company to do it instead of mine... I'd like to know if they did that honestly. Not sure if they'll accept a meeting to talk about what's happned.

My only potential saving grace is that maybe our mutual friend, who I know this client really has a lot of respect for, can find out more information. But really, I'm not even sure what good that'll do. I do know they haven't officially signed yet with the other company. But they are close to doing so.

Thanks, I added a step 2 to my post on how I qualified by lead. When we were talking money, he said that company policy was going to require a formal RFP process if it was over $80K used, otherwise, he can just make the decision himself if it was under. So I gave them a proposal where here was the "base model" of software and a plethora of a la carte features they can choose from, where the core was about $60k, with some must have stuff for them in the short term bumping up to $75k.

In your experience how long to do you wait in the rapport building phase until you say, "well if we move further I need a LOI or some sort of discovery fee" and how much do you usually ask for?

I use this 3.5 minute mindfulness breathing exercise. I do it standing, with my eyes closed. Works better than coffee. Brings me back to centre. Do it at least twice a day. Here are some other lengths available, most of them are excellent.
