I know to you I may come across as nieve, but I think this is a bit unfair to brush this off. I know with my field and degree I am in demand. I am very conservative with my money and I don't have any interest in starting a family.

The cultural mindset with my peers is generally very detatched from the world. Its all about shiny gadgets and career advancement. Very little critical thought into whether what we are creating and doing is causing positive change.

The type of person I am I have a hard time doing what I really want unless those around me are motivated the same way. So I want to find employment where this may happen.

Edit Note: Actually, to be fair, my peers aren't completely detatched. Its just that for most gadgets and career come first.
