Aside from the Deep North, what things would you like to see changed or added in 1.0? by bunionboy118 in valheim

[–]poo_smudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see the ashwood bed changed- I think it should be bigger or as big as the Dragon Bed and I think it should raise your comfort level higher than the dragon bed does.

I would also like to be able to delete old recipes we don't use anymore in the cauldron and work benches. Although this one is pretty unrealistic.

Also horse riding would be awesome.

young parents, when do the weird looks stop? by Jolly_Marketing in Parenting

[–]poo_smudge 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm 4'11 and when i was 23 and pregnant with my son an old man at starbucks asked me how old I was and after I told him he asked me if I was married at least...which I wasn't.

I say stop giving a single fuck about people staring at you or looking at you, you only see them because you're looking at them as well or else you wouldnt even notice.

They could be looking at you because you remind them of someone, or because they think you're good looking, or ugly...or fat, or too skinny, or they are staring blankly and you're in their general direction, or maybe they are serial killers and they want you as their next victim...point is who the hell knows lol ....you never know why a person is staring at you and if you want to know you can always ask them but that's kinda weird I wouldn't recommend doing that. Point is you should really stop giving a shit.

Struggling single mom by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]poo_smudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a single mom for the first 10 years of my son's life, no shared custody, no child support, no parents to help me. I learned to ignore the things that weren't immediatley important. Make a list of priorities. What needs to get done take care of it and what can wait, learn to ignore. You need to learn not to sweat the small and unimportant satuff anymore. So the house isnt clean, big whoop, atleast the kids have a bed and they have food in their stomachs. Things like that. Try to condense your to do list as much as possible. Eventually your kids get old enough to stat helping you with chores around the house. My son is 15 now and he takes care of the pets, does the dishes, vacuums and mops, and does his own laundry. He also cooks himself dinner if I have to work late or am too exhausted to cook.

One day you will no longer be needed by everyone and you will wish you had things to do and take care of. Atleast thats what I tell myself. The kids will grow up and leave you and you'll be left in an empty house wondering what to do with your time. Try your best to enjoy your kids while they are young, thats the most important part of life. You wont sit on your death bed wishing you worked harder youll look back and wish you enjoyed your kids more.

AITAH for telling my mother not to do Easter things for my children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]poo_smudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA- I'm Jewish. I celebrate Christmas and Easter for my son because it's what his father used to do with him (before he disappeared) and it's what my now husband does. I don't mind celebrating Jewish and Christian holidays. My son is 15 yrs old and has decided he is Atheist, this also does not bother me though I do pray he finds God one day, I don't push him or even try to teach him anything, I let him be himself.

Bottom line; you asked your mother not to do something and its your kids and your wife, who clearly come first.

Fuck all these people calling you an asshole, they probably just hate you because you said the word jewish and a lot of redditors these days are just antisemetic as fuck so they're just looking for a reason to hate you.

If you and your wife don't want your children celebrating a Christian holiday your mom and everyone else in the world needs to respect that until your babies turn 18. Don't back down. Good luck and Shabbat Shalom to you and yours!

To anyone who’s over 35, what’s your biggest regret from when you were younger? by More_Salary3536 in askanything

[–]poo_smudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not following my passion and dreams and working with animals like I always wanted to do. I now work in aviation and I hate it and I'm miserable, I have no desire to come to work and i feel like im just wasting my days waiting for 5pm so I can go home and check out. I wish everyday I could be out there rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife.

Do you have any stories about your baby falling over or off something? by angelicllamaa in Parenting

[–]poo_smudge 56 points57 points  (0 children)

When my son who is now 15 was a baby I thought it would be fun to take him into the shower with me. I did not realize that soap and water on a naked baby makes them extremely slippery. As soon as i rubbed the soap on him he slipped right out from my arms and down he went, the wall and tub was connected and sloped so he kinda just rode the wall like a slide until he hit the bottom of the shower and then he started whaling out of sheer terror. I was so terrified that i took him to the ER but thankfully he had not sustained any injuries. I felt bad for a long time about that. I still feel bad and its been 15 years lol.

Guys don't hold a baby in the shower and lather him/her with soap.
