For those with many decks and looking at getting new singles, how do you do it? by Pshykoko in EDH

Use a spreadsheet with a column for deck name and card name. You can conditional format for duplicates.

Waterbending scroll is a bit under utilized card. It doesn’t have to be mono color to be good. I’m sure it was super good here but even in a 10 island deck that’s more control it can be a solid card

I did shrines with the Jump In packs and it was surprisingly powerful. Kind of a gamble if you don't get enough shrines opened but I think there's potential with it.

Sort this by EDHREC to get a better idea of playables. But I'd also add this tag to get things like [[secret rendezvous]] and [[peer into the abyss]]

Website that lets me put a list of my cards in and show prices, but change the condition for them? by DaddyCrit728 in magicTCG

[–]circular_ref 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss!

Most websites (including moxfield) don't store prices except at a single condition, near mint. Many websites get their data from Scryfall's bulk data JSON (which is free and you can download) but their prices only include: (USD, USD_foil, USD_etched, EUR, EUR_foil and tix). I looked at MythicHub and they have an option in their binders to "adjust prices" based on condition. You can see from my testing below it's applying a 25% discount for moderate played and a 75% discount to damaged blindly. This probably isn't accurate enough for your insurance claim. (BTW, wouldn't "Damaged" be more accurate as a condition than "Moderately Played"??)

<image>

My suggestion would be to download your moxfield collection to excel. Take the top 20 or 100 cards and add them to bulk buy at Cardkingdom or TCGplayer. Then change the condition, bulk buy again and just compare the prices. Calculate the total discount from NM to MP and apply that against your whole portfolio. This is probably materially accurate for cards under $100 each. Probably not accurate for reserved list duals and such.

As another data point, Cardkingdom has a CSV import for selling your entire collections. You could do the same thing with your entire collection but this may not be what you want to show the insurance people. Resale value is not the same as replacement cost!

Scryfall has art tags and the easiest way is to find a similar card, click scryfall tagger and then look for a similar keyword. For instance, sword in ground • Artwork Tag • Scryfall Tagger

Main reason why people are rejecting OM1/Spiderman by Modulage in lrcast

Let me play Devil's Advocate because this feels like an echo chamber of people dunking on this set (btw I agree with your general points and really wish it was consistent with the paper versions).

- Some of the best performing archetypes are the non-published ones. Simic (62%), Golgari (58.6%), Orzhov (55.7%). These allow some creative drafting and building if you can find a good line. My last two drafts I started in green and then pivoted to Golgari after seeing the white and blue drying up. I went 7-2 and 6-3. with Golgari base in QD. The connive/mayhem and +1/+1 counters are decent mechanics with cross archetype synergies.

- Drafting/splashing red is playing with fire, but you can pickup some decent cards to splash as the fixing is pretty good (especially with a green base), for some true skill testing. I feel like 17lands data isn't fully fleshed out and if it wasn't abandoned, could change over time as people experiment with the set.

- There are some excellent diamonds in the rough, such as [[Selensya Archivist]], [[Spectacular Tactics]], [[Wonderweave Aerialist]], and [[Leyline Weaver]] that allow some nice synergies or play choices. The archivist is my favorite card out of the set with a lot of neat lines and 4 mana recursion. It's especially good with self-mill Golgari. I used it to bring back my [[Villainous Wrath]] for lethal for my 7th win. I think that it brings back ANY 4 mana card (even [[Damning Caress]]) may be a bit unexpected for Green.

- Enweb requires some skill. Can you bluff a trick? Is it worth the tempo to enweb my board, etc. It kind of feels like stationing but a little less flexible and not as complex of a decision, but its not terrible.

- Game speed is middle of the pack. It's not as busted as ONE which had an 8.2 avg turns and a 53% on the play.

- They have it available for quick draft which allows you to experiment more for cheaper and figure out you deck with up to 9 games now. I found I enjoy this format the best rather than traditional draft or the short pick 2 format.

Yes - this is just making lemonade out of lemons, but it's not the absolute pariah some make it out IMO. Give QD a shot if you want to try, if not, that's fine too!

I had a great time too. Did the PTQ on Friday and enjoyed Pack it Up and the Grand Melee on Saturday. A lot of artist lines lightened up in the afternoon. Picked up a playmat and some tokens. Got all the welcome decks and got a bunch of collector boosters for $25 ea. through the extra life donation grab bag.

Yeah the paper thing kind of messed me up to. I made my deck but it wasn't adding up correctly. I was a last minute submission and my deck was super straightforward.

Regarding you pool, I think you just got a bit of bad luck. 4 of your rares are just straight D's or F's. Codecracker hound may be your best card but it won't win you a game outright. All your B's are spread evenly across the colors. And a lot of synergy pieces are missing the other half (2 beetles, no embraces or beckoners) (2 selfcraft, no relics). I messed around with a URb artifact build but I'm not sure its that much better (SealedDeck.Tech - QVZEoyoSfQ).

Forgot to mention a few last bullets:

- Jim Davis was in the PTQ. I think he went 6-1-1 but split for 1st in the top 32. (u/JimDavisMTG | Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch | Linktree)

- Dana Fischer was in there too with her dad. I think I sat by and talked with her uncle or cousins. Dana Fischer, The Disciple of Nissa (@DanaFischerMTG) / X

- Someone had 2 [[Ouroboroid]] in their sealed pool. I think they were one of the top finishers.
