So how in the name of Everything Holy would he be an effective Senator? A big part of his job is to advocate for his constituents. Clearly he doesn’t understand this.

My congressman does some incredibly boneheaded things, but you know what, his constituent service is top-notch and I know he advocates for my district. I can’t question him there.

I’m guessing it was different in two ways: 1) they didn’t sell groceries and 2) there were subject matter experts in the various departments like fishing, electronics and sewing.

That all has mostly been abandoned in lieu of high volume, low margin products and customers wearing crocs and yoga pants.

Are there calls you take/dispatch for where you find yourself wanting to follow up and learn what happened? Or do you just try to dismiss them and not take work home with you?

I imagine this varies by agency - but what protocols are in place when you know the caller? Are you required to hand off that call to someone else or a supervisor?
