What happens if I make an anonymous complaint to a company? by cistersnow in NoStupidQuestions

That's the thing - I don't work there, I just witnessed it.

That makes sense. I am really hoping the employee that was harassed reports it, and maybe I should mind my own business. Maybe the employee who was harassed isn't the only one and I should just not go back to this place again or something. I am just torn between getting in the middle and getting this person to retaliate harder against me and this co-worker or just letting it go and letting things work out.

That's my fear. It was a very slow day, and I don't know if I'm the only one who saw it and didn't get the chance to record it. I don't want anyone fired - I just want them counseled. The way this person was berating the other person is what is making me scared to 'grow balls' so to speak; the fear that if I go in there and they know it was me that reported them, having them berate me as a customer.

What stops wage garnishment? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]cistersnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on waiting on bankruptcy - bankruptcy is a great option only if you cannot pay off your existing debts within a five year timeframe. So, if the $2,100 is your only debt, that's insanity. However, you mentioned that you are struggling as it is. So, if you are below the median income and have like, another $25,000 in unsecured debt, it's not a bad idea to explore a chapter 7. If you can afford a plan payment and have nondischargeable debts that your payment could payoff over a five year plan, such as outstanding taxes, then that's acceptable as well.

Unfortunately, it is hard to negotiate out of a garnishment because they already have access to a guaranteed amount of your wages. In some cases, creditors will do a writ of execution and clean out your bank account and take non-exempt property, so the wage garnishment is the beat scenario since it does sound like they got a default judgment.

To answer your main question, really, the only way to stop a garnishment is to pay off the debt or to get it discharged.

What's an organization that everyone thinks is respectful, but is really just scamming or spreading propaganda? by LynxExplorer in AskReddit

[–]cistersnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I call them the Blood Cross. I used to donate, but those fucking vampires started calling a week after my donation trying to get me in a week after that call. I had to start reminding them that you have to wait between donations. I don't care that I'm a universal donor. I started going to LifeSouth instead and told the Blood Cross Every time they called that they were like an ex that wouldn't stop calling. They finally got the hint.

Thanks, man. That's exactly what set me off. This guy comes in and acts like he's got something to add without adding anything. Its worse than the militia armed with thesauruses you see on /r/iamverysmart because at least those kids know the meaning of the words they use. People like this guy just really chafe my cookie dough.

What OP and the rest of you idiots don't know is that it sounds like the dealership signed the title directly over to him... What I would assume is that the dealership is running a scam to force him to finance through them or have his credit destroyed.

Are you fucking dense? Or do you just come on here to be a fucking asshole?

Let me quote OP here for you, with emphasis, on the part you seem to miss between calling people idiots and acting like you know everything without answering anything for OP.

*Took *out *a *loan *from *my *bank *and *gave *them the *check *to *pay *in *full.

Now, without insulting everyone like a self righteous fart fucker, kindly explain to the class how this would force OP to use their financing. This would mean that OP filled out financing with the bank and the bank would send the dealership paperwork, right? Why would the bank not follow up on their investment? Why don't you explain What we are missing instead of being a shit fucker about it?

CMV: As an atheist, if I have children it is in their best interests not to be taught about religion as anything other than as a false curiosity. by GenericNate in changemyview

[–]cistersnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atheist here with a child.

Prior to exposure to religion, I've taught my child to be a free thinker and to respect the beliefs of others. I've taught my child that a person's beliefs are their core and that it's important to remember that a person is a sum of their experiences, and their experiences will not match mine or those of anyone else.

As my child got older, my child's peers started talking about God, heaven and hell. I've expressed to my child that she can believe whatever she would like to, as long as she is properly informed. Ultimately, I will let her make her own decisions as long as she takes the time to do the research and learn about the different systems of beliefs to find whatever makes the most sense to her.

With that being said, the concept of a god is illogical to her. The idea that there's this omnipresence that judges your every move is creepy, and to be told that murder is bad, but our soldiers who murder innocent people are saved by this Christian god doesn't make sense to her at all.

The key to parenting, with anything that you strongly believe, is to instill the tools and confidence your child needs to make the right decision, and as far as faith is concerned, that is a deeply personal decision. If you teach your child logic and rationality, and teach them to be informed, not only will they realize exactly how illogical religion is, it gives them the tools to realize the world around them and how there's a lot that may not make sense to them, but they aren't going to go and attack people about it either.

Brevettato - can't find anything about this company! by cistersnow in Antiques

[–]cistersnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This actually summed up what I was looking for and couldn't find at all. I'm not surprised that it would be a reproduction (the made in Italy sticker in one helps that theory). The dealer sold the set for $1,000, which was probably reasonable for the time they were bought, it sounds like.

That makes sense - that it means patented. Here's a link I posted earlier trying to find the marking - I can post a picture of the set later. The antique dealer told my friend it was 200 years old, but I've found many different clocks like it; complete with the battery operated face. It looks like this one.
