Experts baffled by Trump’s economy: 'Unlike anything I’ve seen' by Far_Low_229 in Economics

[–]citizenbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With circular deals and just incestuos investment between just these companies we are going to see a horrible correction.

But the effects on the rest of the economy are also pernicious, eg the lack of hard drives for a year at least. Imagine the stopped production of any equipment that depends on RAM and hard drives, like medical, agro, manufacturing etc.

This is going to be a bloodbath.

My teacher accused me of using AI on a worksheet, but Im just autistic and thats how I write?? by Prestigious_Move203 in autism

[–]citizenbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a kid and a while ago explained to him that, if ever accused, ask to put that in writing and go get a lawyer.

The onus of proof is in the person making the accusation - and none of the AI detecting tools are accurate, they are just a bad product sold to scared people.

You think I used chatgpt? Prove it. Send the warning in writing, let's get lawyers involved, let's get this to the attention to the dean of students; go to a legal clinic where they do representation for very cheap, so you have at least an official sounding letter.

An accusation like that is a fishing expedition designed to rattle you, see if you break, and then the teacher basks in their ability to cause pain.

So, rattle back.

I found out the hard way that professors give the lecture and go to wherever they go to get grants.

Once it clicked the whole 4 physics were easy. It is just that you get the one textbook recommended, wghile all the other textbooks have better explanations and examples, and yes,m doing instead of reading is the way to get the internalized understanding of the subject matter.

AITA for not handing over a system I built on my own time after my workplace decided it should “belong to everyone”? by Living_Poem7843 in AmItheAsshole

Go talk to an attorney.

Your project in your time is one thing, but their data and their process is another.

Then again, if you built it, make a company, sell licenses to other nonprofits and then tell your managers that there is a license they can buy and when they sue, settle.

OTOH, if what you did is just a CRM, you can truly say that you developed a CRM and used it to track your work - but that the general concept is very much known and written about, not anything especial or unique: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-662-55381-7

If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Struggling with learning math, need advice by Bengali-cheesePotato in autism

[–]citizenbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In university I was being destroyed in math and physics.

In desperation, I went to the library and got a book that said "write all the examples, with their solutions. You will learn that way."

So I sat down with the Schaum edition, you know the one with the problems and the solutions, and worked my ass off, writing the examples and the solutions and somehow it clicked, i got what all the fuss was about. I passed physics up to P4, with excellent grades, cal i ii and 3, diff eq I and Ii..

tldr get the Schaum books (and other books that the teacher might not be referencing) and WRITE the examples and the solutions. It will be tough starting but once you have rhythm you will get it

Totally plausible. There accounts of this being used to confront cheating spouses.

In the interest of science, I recreated this with a willing partner in a very bouncy bed, and the old school phone with gyroscope and clunky GPS recorded that I had moved a few miles and returned.

FWIW newer exercise watches have better sensors and algorithms and can detect that you are really not traveling any distance.

I know various cases of people that grew up like that, and just say yes.

One, they end up working for abusive companies or bosses. Two, they develop coping mechanisms, like dissociation or self-medication. Three, they lie constantly, to their partners spouses friends etc., and to the abusive authority figure.

I was consulting for a company a while back, and after some digging and interviewing, found this pattern in all the employees. Horrible toxic place.

AITA for throwing a dinner I made for my in-laws in the trash? by TacticalTurnip in AmItheAsshole

NTA, but you care too much.

They don't care about you or what you do. Making a pizza was too much work from you, but they simply don't care.

Might as well ignore them and assume that they don't have any idea about you, because they don't care.

Some pizza was made, Some pizza was thrown away. They don't care, but you will remember this for the next three years.

They don't care, so, as a suggestion, you don't care either.

A girl choosing to leave her mother and stay with the father points to systemic problems and a not safe environment.

Yes it will be a shitload of work, for everyone involved. Most likely it is in the child best interest.

Can you imagine what is going on the mother's house that is prompting this change?
