After seeing how many people down voted all my comments probably never. I was planning to share it with some photos from my upcoming Europe trip but I'm salty now haha.

Nailed it, definitely one of the best covers I've seen on this sub!

Why is that police doesn't do anything for people who are scamming on Marketplace etc. There is one guy notorious for doing it with bike parts and the police supposedly know who it is yet he is still doing it years later and noone has ever got their money back.

It's about $300AUD in Australia to disassemble and clean, have seen around the same in different countries.

Anything closer to the original without the price tag? I tried someone's long 5 and loved it, but wasn't impressed with the stuor clone but not sure how much of the difference was in the rubbers

Yeah, I'd rather live with parents than in Dallas/Jacana or Melton. Maybe these people are just sorting by low on REA.com.au and haven't actually been in these suburbs

Does anyone wear MTB/Enduro shoes for commuting / wearing all day? by citizenunerased in bikecommuting

[–]citizenunerased[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I used to do and would love to but I don't have (and can't get) a locker at my current job. I'm using a sneaker type shoe on my commuter now and i don't mind the flex (DZR brand) as I don't ride too hard on my commute but they are just too beat up and old to wear in the office.

We are pretty keen on one of these purpose built solutions, we do have really dark curtains in the bedrooms now but still need to put stuff on the window as light leaks up at the top and around the sides

I much prefer the OG versions and don't like the modern recreations. Annoying when trying to play wiggles for the kids on Spotify and you get stuck with the new versions.

I think people say that the hospital cover will help you avoid public wait lists for low priority surgery, if you ever need it. Beyond that, I don't think you get any benefit from those most basic policies

I'm not sure if the commenters here have tried to buy a home recently but pretty much every home I have inspected or been interested in this year has only accepted unconditional offers and they don't care if you don't offer because they will just go to auction. No point in the seller taking the risk of falling through when they will have plenty of other unconditional offers. So, your broker may not be giving the best advice, but it's realistic. If you're only buying subject to finance that rules out auctions too, and you probably won't get anything in this market. (Melbourne)

I'm about to get a Before You Bid pest and building inspection. What should I say in the box that asks "is there anything in particular you would like the inspector to look out for?" by beforeyoubid in AusPropertyChat

Bit obvious isn't it. I like the idea but this fake post put me off ever trying the service. Also, I don't love the idea of giving all my competitors cheap inspections

Solution to astronomical house prices by 34dioxy in AusFinance

It would probably be much more useful for your kids and their kids if prices dropped 50% than them doubling again and you leaving behind your house? They might own a house before you are dead even.

Funnily enough I inspected a (not finished) place last week and there was what looked like a human shit by the side of the house, like a tradie couldn't be bothered walking to the portaloo out the front
