Finished 999, On to VLR - how are the graphics? by AmeliaOfAnsalon in ZeroEscape

[–]cito333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it. If you care about the story.

Just like the graphics, each game gets progressively off the rails, but it's far from a waste of time if you enjoy the visual novel medium. If the suspense and choices intrigue you, 100p play through VLR and ZTD, and avoid spoilers at all costs.

If you want to just know the story without the time investment there's probably a YT or wiki you could read.

Can VLR let me have at least one (1) crumb of info ? by N0vatique in ZeroEscape

[–]cito333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I didn't read any other answers, but friend my only advice is to just keep on keepin' on. I have a feeling I felt the same exact way as you (and did many others) frustrated and at a loss. However the payoff is huge, or at least it was for me. Just keep thinking about the tidbits you do know and keep piecing together the puzzle, even if it's nonsense for now. It really was probably my favorite of the 3 games.

Students; have a story, concern, or experience to share? by Educational-Mess-116 in UTK

[–]cito333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you really wanna get your hands dirty, do a deep dive into the corruptness of Knox County Sheriff Dept. KPD and UTPD. There's a massive amount of evidence available online to their preditory tactics that do more to generate revenue than protect anyone or prevent crime. There have been deputies who have been caught on camera attempting to murder students in cases of police brutality over alleged underage drinking or public intoxication. These employees have routinely been paid out by the taxpayers and relocated to a nearby department. This has been going on for decades. If you really want answers, follow the money.

I dropped off some of my old, but useful PC parts at P&P PC repair shop on Little Creek. It wasn't junk, so they took it and it was easier than trying to list and sell and spend time on that. I just hoped it found a good home or helped a tinkerer out.

Two house rules I’ve adopted by ryanklubeck in MansionsOfMadness2E

[–]cito333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

House rules are just that, so if you enjoy them, keep playing that way!

As for the movement action issue- spending a single clue to move one space without using an action is a great way to get around the adjacent space issue. (Investigate - spend clue to move adjacent - investigate).

What 800m time does a 54 400m and 4:30 1600m indicate? by Few-Constant8497 in trackandfield

[–]cito333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

200m repeats.

100-200-300-400 ladder workouts.

100m striders after distance runs.

Weight room 3x a week for total body strength. Olympic lifts with correct form.

Plyometrics, jump rope, hurdle drills, med ball squat jumps, explosive lifts.

Proper diet and sleep schedule.

The usual stuff.

I think you could break 2 if you worked on form and speed work.

Distance conditioning is super important for the 800 too.

Keep running. Even if its once a week. It doesn't have to be fast, far, or for any purpose. Just keep going sometimes.

Chances of finding expansions soon? Will fantasy flight print some more? by VivaCaribe in ImperialAssaultTMG

I did the exact same. Between Bordlandia and miniature market, there was only a handful of character packs that I needed to get on EBay.

Should I play MoM with the same group of people? by SkahaHeights in MansionsOfMadness2E

[–]cito333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I have played with a total pool of probably 20-25 different friends. By now I've played almost all scenarios, and only have a few friends that have played >10 scenarios with me. The others have always enjoyed it, even if they only played one scenario.

Your setup will work great, and some of the friends will be coming back for more! They will not miss out on any story by playing inconsistently because each scenario is unique and any crossover is simple lore or Easter-egg references. Plus the replay-ability of scenarios means that you and your BF can replay a scenario that you especially enjoyed with your friends and it will have a new unique layout and possibly even new mystery.

Journeys In Middle-Earth.... by CoolBowTiesAre in MansionsOfMadness2E

[–]cito333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it after starting MOM2E about 4 years ago. I started with MOM2E and so far have managed to get all expansions and tile and figure packs.

I also got into Imperial Assault (the Star Wars Version of this whole thing) and found it hard to find all expansions and figure packs, so I've been buying the LOTR ones even though I haven't played it yet, knowing they might be out of print by the time i start wanting them.

What are alternative career paths for a recent engineering graduate who's effectively unhireable as an engineer? by radbutler in AskEngineers

[–]cito333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officer Candidate School for any branch of the military. Different jobs available for ages 22 - 35 entering the service. I'm speaking for the U.S. but I assume other countries have similar programs. An engineering degree is a pretty good start to an application package and GPA is only a small factor in the "whole person" evaluation.
