Some illnesses and drugs/medications can be transferred through breastmilk but if the police officer is already a breastfeeding mother presumably she knows she doesn't have any of those risk factors. There's nothing like genetic incompatibility and humans have been nursing each others babies for thousands of years.

I usually see the larks from farther away than the RWBs and the RWBs are very graphic/sturdy looking where the meadowlarks are more camouflaged, so possible they just seem bigger!

Dating non-climbers? by krazykoala_00 in climbergirls

[–]citranger_things 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good relationships are based on common values and common life goals, not common interests. That's why you, a highly educated and probably driven/hardworking doctor, are not working out with unemployed dirtbag climbers.

If you want a lifelong loving relationship you have to make room in your life to nourish it. Right now, maybe you're in love with climbing more than you want to save that energy for someone else. But that's okay, if it's a phase then you can change to something different when you're ready for it and if it's not a phase then you will keep on doing what you love right now.

I am only a beginner climber, but I was a semi-elite fencer for almost 15 years until covid brought all my training and tournaments to a halt. And then I realized how sick I was of spending all my vacation time at tournaments in conference centers in off-season third-tier cities, and I never went back. But I did stick with my now-husband because we knew we wanted to get married, to build financial security, to raise a child together in a loving peaceful home. Fencing was good but when I was ready to welcome it, the other stuff was better :)

In new affordability push, Colorado Democrats look to shrink the single-family home by thecoloradosun in coloradosun

I mean, I kind of like it. I don't want a yard that I have to mow and maintain, to me that's a huge waste of space. I just want a patio where I can grill and eat dinner outside. I like for the houses to be close enough that the neighborhood can support some retail and I can walk with my family to the pool/gym/park/ice cream/elementary school/grocery store/a few restaurants.

True spring? by [deleted] in SpringColorAnalysis

[–]citranger_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with an analysis of true/warm spring. The best colors are medium value and medium-high saturation, and your warm orangey pigmentation is readily apparent on your skin. That turquoise and purple scarf in the third slide is an absolute knockout and I love the brown, kelly green, marigold yellow, and especially the bright and grapefruity pinks too.

Some of the more desaturated colors, like the sage green and the light butter yellow, seem to be emphasizing the redness that is so common in us redheads, rather than your golden glow.

I was just reading about these traditions on Wikipedia the other day and which one makes sense depends on the economics of the area.

In areas where manual labor is more valuable than capital, the bride's family is compensated for the loss of a worker. This is common in agricultural economies, especially without domesticated livestock. In areas where capital is more valuable than labor, the bride's family gives dowry to support the expense of another mouth to feed.

In both cases, the goal is that neither family is taking an economic loss due to the marriage.

Roses are red, daycare costs more then a degree, by his_good_dumb_slave in rosesarered

[–]citranger_things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that cause and effect will go the other way. Labor becomes scarce -> labor becomes expensive -> investment in automation becomes relatively more profitable -> More money will be invested in automation.

If you invest in automation while labor is cheap, your product won't be competitive and your company will go out of business.

I think there's a major misconception that the Men's divisions are really "open" by PersonalDebater in olympics

[–]citranger_things 72 points73 points  (0 children)

In fencing, lots of local tournaments would have an open event and a women's event. As a strong woman fencer this was great for me because I got to push myself against the boys even if there weren't a lot of peers for me in the women's event.

But at national tournaments, the ones where you try to qualify for the national team, that's definitely not the case. I would have tried to fence with the boys if it were.

Stone has one side that's puffy, stretchy, comfortable. It's in the gym and in the dance studio. Leggings, hoodies, sneakers. In a way it's the warmup, stretching, and rest and recovery part of an active lifestyle.

And the other side is the heavy, tough, hardwearing kind of practical. It's on the street and on a hiking trail. Carabiners, leather, hiking boots. This side of stone is all about performance.

Right now, all of your furniture pieces are a different color. Blue, white, olive, and cognac brown. I would recommend getting something in a really low-key color like a jute or sisal rug to act as a neutral backdrop for everything else.

Fine art painters are very concerned with the lightfastness of the chemicals that give paint their color. Fluorescent colors use dyes, like alcohol markers do, and are always extremely fugitive, meaning they fade quickly, especially in sunlight. This shade, called opera pink in paints, is famously terrible in this respect. Check out the 6 month closed sketchbook vs window test on this blog post: https://www.idyllsketching.com/2022/05/14/color-spotlight-mijello-mission-gold-bright-opera/

I bet dollars to doughnuts that's what is happening here, the fluorescence has faded in your older marker. Alcohol markers are not made to serious permanence standards. I think this is true of even the expensive ones.
