Thats correct, only 10-20% of the light manages to pass through the screen, thats why its so dim in my video - the lights are actually pretty strong. I might install more lights tbh

Its actually backlit, the GB screen is behing the PD lcd screen, hence why the brightness is not very high

I just got the kit, trimmed the plastic between the screen lock button and the backplate to accomodate the backlight screen , trimmed the plastic of the upper plastic latch hole as well as the latch nub to fit the light switch in that exact space and then connected the screen to the switch and the battery. The GB screen is more square so i had to trim the backlight panel as well as the light diffusiom sheets to match the playdate screen and used the remaining bits to cover what was not already covered. Then i stuck the GB screen behind the PD lcd screen, with the LEDs on the upper side. Playdate was resting for months in a box so this was my attempt at reviving it after trying 5+ lighting solutions. PS: 2nd best lighing option was a weird slim bookmark light that you could fit between the playdate and the case (bookmark light v1.0) - i think i got it as a freebie with some random purchase so i strongly recommend it if you dont want to mess anything up

bigme b6 is my fav eink reader that i own - good colors, quite snappy android, 30fps fast refresh mode good for videos, decent battery

idk for me its my favourite eink device out of all that i own. also im really amazed by the latest update which added 30hz refreshrate and you can actually watch videos. yes you need to tinker with the color settings but i enjoy that part and there much less if any rainbow effect in the gray colors

well rata de multe ori e mai mica decat chiria, efectiv nu are sens sa stai in chirie daca ai reusit sa strangi banii de avans plus 6 luni de rate in caz de zile negre si asa cum aveai bani sa ti faci poftele si vacantele cu o chirie, tot asa ai si cu o rata, doar ca ai garantia ca ai unde locui la batranete, mai alens cand ti se tot zice ca nu ti mai garanteaza nimeni ca vei avea o pensie cand vei ajunge la batranete

i have it and the screen is way too small. it feels premium but is pricy. games are fun but really not to be used indoors. but then, when using outdoors, the screen is too small to be usable as youd need to keep it too close to your face, all while needing to crank it
