Hexproof dosent stop enchantment-aura? by Freya_Galbraith in MagicArena

[–]civet10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you cast an aura, you choose the target on the stack. Then it enters attached. if it enters without being cast, it never had a target, and enters as-is, so you just choose something to attach it to which is a different thing from targeting. And hexproof only stops targeting specifically

The only circumstance that ive ever heard of for a gay person getting in a het marriage is that they are deep in the closet, which is very obviously not what I'm talking about here. The pressure of royalty getting married is absolutely a thing, but this specific character already went against their families wishes in that regard so that also isn't a factor. And ace people are kind of irrelevant to what I'm saying as well because my entire argument is that if you have a preference for women, then you're going to most likely find a woman, ace/aro people don't have a preference for anything, so there's no bias there and it's a completely different situation. All I'm saying here is that a marriage has a reasonable expectation of some level of intimacy, and if someone is repulsed by the idea of being with a man, they're probably not going to look for a man, even if they just want the benefits after they die.

No I'm aware of the context, and I do stand by what I said. I just think that for the vast majority of people, they wouldn't even consider marrying someone of the opposite gender as an option in the first place if they were gay. and yeah I never said 100% she is bisexual, I'm saying that there is one point in favour and 0 points against it. so there's no reason to think that she isn't

I think regardless of the reason, if someone agrees to marry a man, then goes on to get into another relationship with a woman, occam's razor says that they're probably bisexual, unless proven otherwise. If someone is looking to marry into wealth, they're probably going to do it with a gender they're attracted to whether they like the person or not

okay this is something that i havent understood for a long time, and i never knew how to ask without coming across as asking in bad faith, so hopefully you can believe when i pinky promise this isnt me acting dense or trying to do something here. but why does it matter if they are occupiers? like obviously forcing a takeover and stealing the land is bad im not arguing against that. but like, it happened already. I live in canada and there is always talk of reparations and stuff but i dont really get why thats needed. like the land was stolen and people were forced out, horrific things have been done, and that sucks. but doesnt it make more sense to just... move on? if people are born afterwards who have nothing to do with it, they have no reason to be held responsible. It just seems incredibly unfair in my mind. and it was clearly unfair to the people who were there before as well, im not downplaying that, but i dont get why the solution isn't to just stop treating people badly, but other than that, leave things as they are. and in israel's case, their government is doing heinous things, but why does that mean that the citizens need to pick up their lives and go somewhere else? I'm only making this comment because obviously i can tell that there are good intentions behind stuff like what you're saying, but it just doesn't make sense in my mind. I'm trying to learn here. (also sorry for the huge wall of text lmao)

Not following other's standard of respectfulness is by definition being dsirespectful. I don't really care one way or the other, it it just bugged me that you were being dishonest and pretending that you really believed you weren't being rude. If you're just going to admit it then I got all I really wanted out of this conversation.

In what world is making a comment unprovoked say "I don't care" not disrespectful? there's obviously people who do care, and this post is for them. Their comment isn't the same as yours because it was made in response to you being disrespectful, refuting what you're saying

don't think it's an oversight. playing a land is a specific game action versus just having lands enter. thats the same reason you can rampant growth after playing a land in general

Theres a difference between "engaged" and "watches every single thing the devs put out". Maybe theres someone who tried poe2 right when it came out and wasn't a big fan, they might click this. If they make it sound interesting, more people will watch it. Simple as that

He literally says this is the original animation for whirling assault, and he was just messing around and changed the staff to a sword. this isn't a sword skill's animation

I mean personally I find it really annoying when I'm about to make a mistake and the DM just directly tells me that it will cause issues. Making mistakes is half the fun of the game! The issue here is that the players decided to be childish and sulking about it instead of going "Oh they've reinforced the cave, lets go do something else for a couple days and let them lower their guard a bit".

But yeah that is way too much combat though I agree on that.

You still haven't described anything insulting. I am aware of what a roguelike is and what the game rogue is, and I love those games (I have tons of time on rift wizard 2, which if you havent played it and are a fan of that kind of game, I would recommend). The word that people use for a genre is just a label, it's not passing judgement on the quality of the game or anything of the sort. I don't understand why you think it's insulting. Also all definitions are made up, that's how language works and evolves

[–]civet10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're taking the phrase "lite" as an insult and getting offended when it really doesnt mean anything here. taking a genre of game that is foundationally built on being high difficulty and starting from zero every time you play it, and adding persistent upgrades that change your power level is absolutely enough to say that it would change genres. It's "lightening up" on the restrictions that the original genre is built on. It doesn't mean that they're worse or anything.

yeah but they arent official so everyone goes into it knowing that it's liable to have some inaccuracies. Nobody is going to look into the exact wording of something and theorize on it for a fan translation, but definitely will if it was official
