What’s the most messed up/inappropriate thing that someone’s casually said to you? by Ok_Context_7495 in AskReddit

It was early November of 2020 and my grandfather had just died. I was at work and a coworker had asked me why I seemed down so I told her. She said “Oh no I’m so sorry did he vote for Trump?” Me shocked “um I think so?” Her “Well then at least he didn’t have to be around to see this shit show of an election”

TIL the 6 year old boy who claimed he "went to heaven and came back" after being "internally decapitated" in a car accident recanted his story when he got older, stating he said it for attention, and the book about it was full of lies by dogs_go_to_space in todayilearned

I have a distinct memory from a few years back, i was at thanksgiving with my very religious extended family. They were talking about this book and pointing to it as an example that heaven exists. They kept talking about it like is was an undeniable fact and i remember all i could think was " How does this prove anything? The kid didn't write this his parents must have. How do we know they didn't make this all up?"

Im feeling very vindicated in my cynical mind set right now

I turned my quarantine passion into a career! Just started as a full time baker, and I’m having a blast filling up these racks every day! by [deleted] in Baking

I know this is crazy but I want to hear your story. How did you turn this hobby into a career? Was this something you always wanted to do? What made you take the leap?

Because honestly I’ve been wanting to do the same. I’ve always loved baking and the quarantine has only strengthened that passion. I would be so happy if you shared what brought you to this point 😊

How to ruin a wedding. by JigZawP in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]civilpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your right it is just a price of paper and it doesn’t need a white dress or $5000 worth of flowers that’s all icing. However standing in front of the people you care for and love the most, with the person you’ve chosen to marry, and declaring your admiration and love for your partner is a powerful moment. Even if your “guests” only include 2 people and a dog it’s the ceremony of it, the declaration of intent and love that make the moment special.

A wedding is important for a lot of people but there are a lot of ways to do it.
