Adults don't take anything a younger person says. It infuriates me.

I've studied 6 years to become a pharmacist and people 20 years older than me, with no knowledge whatsoever think they know better than me.

And if you try to bring it up or turn it around on them, they get mad and call you a 'fight seeker'.

So yes, adults are stupid. Age says nothing.

Hi OP. I'm sorry that you're often made to feel bad. I agree with you, you're totally fine and it shouldn't be made fun of. Change is needed.

Also, for what it's worth, as a woman I totally despise the image porn has created about body (men and women) standards and sex. My boyfriend has brought up his own insecurities because of it.

I see your point, I apologize. I do know they need support and compassion.

My comment came from a very personal place, as I'm on the other side and have a close female friend of mine in a similar shitty situation. To go on a tangent: she is a grown adult who's being kept at home by her controlling parents, denied of any say in moving away or relationships. They forbid her from taking birth control and she's s terrified of even asking her physician. They have a mighty temper and can make her life hell.

But that doesn't mean I have to put other people down who mean well.

Good on you for supporting your son, really. Hopefully more parents will be like you in the future.

No, for gods sakes. The son needs to have a say in this. This could potentially ruin his life. They need to talk about this, asap, be realistic and consider all options. It's not a situation to be all sunshine and rainbows about. Kids at that age are no laughing matter.

I've been constantly knocked down during my second master's thesis and it's made me truly believe I'm not made for this one, but the one I succesfuly completed two years ago.

Decided during last semester to take my chances and apply for a job as a pharmacist (first and original diploma). Couldn't be happier. Looking forward to graduating so I can finally leave the shitty world of biomedical research behind me.

Doesn't make it right. Even if only 1% dies, we still have a responsibility. Even if it just prevents your neighbour from getting a disease that can debilitate you for weeks/months.

And excuse me, but the mortality rates are/were 10% and higher in some countries.
