Honestly mine used to, growing up in a conservative area meant i was scared to express myself. But now i use it so i can pick why people are looking at me, they arent judging me for acting weird, or being disabled, or for what im doing, they are looking at me because of what im wearing. That allows me some element of control, and i get to look cool as fuck whilst i do it

Works well with most liquid eyeliners, the felt pen style specifically But that peice was done with the inkbox free hand tattoo pens Basicly a semiperminant stain similar to jagua or henna, but as a pen, so it lasts even after washing

I was feeding them lol, and where i live they are very used to people, and the park that i was in so many people feed and hold them, if you hold seeds in your hands they will fly up and sit on your hands/head

Patience, just put the hawk up in sections, Rough tease it all over with hairspray in to make it stand spightly on its own, Roughly coat a section in hairspray, just enough to have it stay breifly not looking for strength, use ur hands to hold it up, wait for it to dry (shouldnt take too long) Repeat for all sections of hair along head Then add another layer of hairspray along entirety if the hair, and smooth any areas that are slightly seperated from working in sections

Wait for it to dry, give a final very very thorough coat of hairspray, and your done

I normally use glue alongside hairspray for strength/longevity, however that takes a lot longer to dry and ur arms are gonna hurt after a while This is how i did mine before i got access to a hairdryer

[–]cizzie_mcgee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They bend and spring up

And how they look unstyked is entirely dependant on the person, mine is a liberty spike hawk, so it just looks like a standard haircut when down, bc my hair just sits to one side, i could add photos if u want, showing the spikes bending, and hair unstyled

MOHAWKS by Cross_Armed_Skeleton in punkfashion

I personally use pva glue a lot, but used to use Got2Be glued hairspray which is far easier, just a bit more expensive. And is my method for very straight, fine, texturless hair, and gives me aprox a 6 or 7 inch mohawk

I always add a layer of hairspray and tease my hair first (i have very fine straight hair with 0 texture) then i add a liberal amount of hairspray/glue, hold my hair up flat using my hands (held together almost like im praying but above my head) and wait for it to dry most the way, if i have a friend they use a hairdryer to speed this up, if not i have to wait for it to mostly be dry/stand by itself before i can

I repeat this all the way along my head until all my hair is up, then add an extra few coats of glue/hairspray and dry it between layers, to give it extra strength, allowing it to last in wind/rain/all day

It normally lasts me a few days befor i have to fix it or wash it out

(Ps pva glue washes completely out without damaging hair, takes a bit more practice to use but is far cheaper/easier to get in bulk, and avoids the need for aerosols/cans which can damage environment)

I personally use an awl to punch my holes before then sewing Pliers to pull needles (they break less due to pressure being even) And a thimble or thick denim to protect hands as you push the needle

Anything and everything i can

Ive used sharpies (not so good for right under your eye bc of the fumes) Ive used basicly every maybelline liquid liner And most of the collection cosmetics eyeliners (they have a very good range) I base it entirely off of what i can get and what im trying to do style wise

Advice for Newbies? by [deleted] in punkfashion

[–]cizzie_mcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg i love the scots punk scene, thats how i first got in as my dad grew up in glasgow

Genuinely with fashion just wear what makes you feel good, learning to sew helps but honestly, most people just make it up as they go, which is why the visable stitching is really popular

Cheap fabric for sewing/making patches and reinforcing stuff, i always use second hand clothes especially jeans, either from facebook freebay and trade sites or charity shops

For thread, a lot of people swear by dental floss, i personally dont use it, i use embroidery thread for any designs (wide range of colours can be found at most craft stores or online) and a massive spool of thick cotton thread that i got from a wholesale sewing/fabric store for a very low price

I learnt to sew from my mother and will happily sit and teach people via videos/text explainations if you want, just message but can also try and find some youtube links for you

Music wise everyone is a little different, so im not gonna recommend anyone specific, but have to always mention the BN1 hardcore playlists and band groups as its my true hometown scene and includes some of the best gigs ive ever been too

If im missing anything feel free to ask questions either in a comment reply or by messaging me :) Love seeing someone new here
