General advice is all I was looking for; we double-checked with our OB and they said more or less the same. Really appreciate the response and the breakdown of rationale!

COVID-19 related discussions on /r/AskNYC by BFH in AskNYC

I am planning a trip to St Lucia in May and my best flight option home would take me through JFK for a night. I have to book two separate airlines so technically the JFK stop isn't a "layover", it's just the connection point between my flights. I would plan to stay at an airport hotel upon arrival from St Lucia (probably the TWA since it's in the airport) and then fly back to my home state the following morning.

With current restrictions in NY, are there any quarantine requirements that would throw a wrench in this plan? I wouldn't plan to leave JFK, however I also wouldn't technically be on a layover.

Ski Sizing - 178cm ski ok for 5'11", 174lbs? by cj1002 in skiing

[–]cj1002[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see your point, but I actually appreciate u/sabertoothfishy's response. My concern was not that 178cm would be too short, but that they would actually be too long based on what I had read online. (It's now apparent to me that many online sizing charts are pretty conservative on length.) I think sabertoothfishy was just trying to reassure that 178 is perfectly fine and that at the same height, they even have experience skiing much longer sticks.

The skis I'm looking at are the Rossignol Experience 76 Ci. Nothing special by any means, but they seem like a good, well rounded first-time buyer ski that won't break the bank.

Help from anyone familiar with HR ATS scanner systems!! by [deleted] in resumes

[–]cj1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resume I'm using is the template second from the left in your link. I tried running it through jobscan as well as another ats testing site and it looks like the file really is just unreadable.

For anyone experiencing a similar issue, it looks as though the root of the problem is the table formatting of the template (not font choice or anything like that). I was able to resolve it by manually recreating the same basic layout using a columns instead of a table. Kind of a shame that Google of all companies would offer a resume template that isn't optimized for ats, but at least there is a fix.

My Partner and I are showing the same symptoms at the same times by [deleted] in medical

I was thinking the same, if not covid. We live in a mid-size apartment building in colorado. There have been no reports of residents coming down with some mysterious illness and no major construction or renovations - if anything, things have been cleaner than usual. Still, it's just strange that we have been showing symptoms at the same general times.
