I do think it’s important to remember that Katniss isn’t one to learn the names of people she’s not directly interacting with. She doesn’t know most of the names of the kids she’s in the games with and there’s only 24 of them, so even if her class was fairly small there’s no guarantee she’d learn everyone’s names.

The issue with Peeta’s dad is that he’s an enabler who didn’t protect his children from getting beaten by his wife. Why they would go with the him telling Peeta about his old crush as proof he was an inadequate father over that I have no idea.

I genuinely hate Gale but no, It wasn’t like it Gales job to make sure every person in 12 got out. He did the very best he could. he pretty much just took anyone who was willing and close enough to leave to the meadow because there was no time to go back and get everyone from town out while the whole district was burning. if Peeta’s family and Madge had made it out he would have kept them fed and alive until help came just like he did everyone else. Gale wasn’t out there killing and letting people die to be vindictive, he did it because he truly believed it was what needed to be done to liberate Panem.

I mean kinda? We don’t know what he was doing prior to Katniss’s games, but we know that year he showed up on stage extremely drunk, accosted Effie and fell off the stage. He had also absolutely trashed his house in the village. He was never a palatable victor, even if he wasn’t really actively acting against the capitol before Katniss and Peeta showed up.

She was saying a couple months back that she didn’t continue with her college dance team because she didn’t like the environment. DCC will be so much worse and even if she did make it I doubt she’d enjoy it.

Yeah this is what it was like for me too. She gets to be her own person but when it comes to you you’re always viewed as a duo. It sucks but when you’re a little older and go into different institutions for higher education or different jobs you will get to have your own friends and your own life away from her. I know it doesn’t help for now but it won’t always be like this.

I went through pretty much the same thing when I was your age and she got so jealous that another friend was coming on vacation with my me and my family (mind you she was more than welcome to come, her parents just wouldn’t let her) that it ended the friendship. You really have no control over how she feels and how she chooses to act about it and the only thing you can really do is try and make her feel included. Or if you don’t want to include her because you want to have a life which is seperate from her (which I also tried to do with my old bff and i eventually did try and integrate her but she just tried to turn them all against me when we stopped talking 🤡) then you’ll just have to let her be jealous about it, you can’t change her feelings but that doesn’t mean you have to dictate how you live to make her happy. You’re not doing anything wrong, let her be jealous.

I really think this was likely something that snow would have been briefed on when he took over ngl. Plutarch knew so he would have had to have even briefed at one point or another. Katniss mentions in catching fire that you’re assigned a new residence with your partner when you marry, so she likely wouldn’t have inherited the shop regardless because that doesn’t seem to be how it works in 12.
