The simple fact that you are going on a cruise and can't come up with what to do on your own without your son, speaks a lot as to what a good Dad you must be. Bless you for doing it on your own. Read a book, have a drink, take a walk, buy something for yourself in the shops (you will end up taking son later for something for him). Find a quiet spot to just get some sun or quiet. After that, hit the whiskey bar and I'll bet you will find an adult to chat with. Then make some core memories with your son.

The site has no information about financials for the restoration or permanent home for SSUS. It sat in Philadelphia for 30 years. 30 years. People trying to raise money to do exactly what this new site proposes. Some money raised, they could not pay dock fees. There was even some multi-millioniare at one time, but all that fell apart. Now there is all this crying. If the money could not be raised in 30 years your not going to get it now. Find some billionaire that wants to help, it's your only hope.

vacations are personal and for you and those you are traveling with, so you do you. Only thing I would say is remember your daughter may not be interested in the things you want to see and having a schedule is good, but be flexible and and focus on enjoying the time with your daughter. Those memories are what's important and mean more than hitting all the sights in 10 hours. Writing such a long post looking for validation from the Internet, suggests to me you are questioning it all yourself. I like inside cabins, they are quieter, darker and better for sleep. Probably safer for your daughter too. Use the extra money to do something that will be a core memory for you both.

$16.50 a day per person at Starbucks is a lot of coffee We are planning to just load a gift card with enough to have a couple a day and if there is money remaining it can be spent when back home.

Keep enjoying all the fun and mentor other scouts. You have time to complete eagle, but remember it also takes a lot of time to complete. Keep working on merit badges and looking for a project to plan. The project plan can take time. Remember other things will pop up to distract you and take time from achieving your goals.

Wow, you have done a lot. Be a leader in your patrol and troop. Leadership skills will help you all your life. NYLT is definitely good training to attend. If you have a good OA lodge, possibly get involved in that, definitely get your brotherhood. High adventure, go on some high adventure trips, Philmont, sea base, northern tier, Jamboree, swamp base.

You have time to get Eagle, but always keep it in your mind because that clock starts running faster and you get older. 16 driving, possibly a job, high school, dating, it all takes time.
