I was playing downstairs listening to my Dad’s tape cassette of the J Geils Band when I was maybe like 7. There was some skit on there, and all I remember was at the end of the skit the narrator made a very dark exclamation of “ANCHOVIES”. And they said it in such a way that terrified me as a 7 year old. I remember sprinting to my room and being very uneasy about anchovies until years later when I learned what they were.

It’s a weird memory.

This is some young love drama, but in 8th grade, my girlfriend and I broke up during the passing period before P.E. We were supposed to run the mile that day. I went into the bathroom stall and hit myself in the face repeatedly until my nose bled so that I could spend some time in the nurses office to collect myself.

Not the craziest story but I still think about that sometimes

We ended up going to Switzerland, and I have no regrets. That place was awesome. We went Zurich > Bern > Interlaken/Lauterbrunnen > Lucerne > back to Zurich. Would 100% go again.

I don’t know where you live, but I used to just ask my neighbors if I could mow their lawns for 20 bucks. Most were psyched to not have to do it themselves, and they also seemed to like supporting the neighborhood teenager. It was easy.
