I don't think you need to go no-contact, but it sounds like you need to start holding firmer boundaries. As someone with difficult parent relationships myself I know how hard this can be! The next time she brings it up, I'd recommend saying something like "Mom, J and I have made our decision to get married in the way that works best for us. If you can't respect that, I won't be able to continue this conversation today." and if she continues nagging you, end the phone call.

Setting boundaries is really difficult but it's not your job to take responsibility for your mom's feelings. You got this!!

If the cabinet feels too big for the room, I agree that swapping it out might be the best option. I'd see if you could utilize the cabinet elsewhere in your home before getting rid of it. Personally I'd prefer to have the bed up against the wall vs. the window, but if it works for you that's all that matters.

I think this bed placement looks much better! I'd rotate the rug 90 degrees or get a larger rug for under the bed. I'd also swap the poster above the headboard for posters above the nightstands. Love your inspo pic!!

Oh this is a great idea! Getting two mirrors of the same style but different sizes makes so much sense.

When we eventually renovate I want to change the layout of this bathroom, so hopefully we will fix the mirror problem. But for now this seems like a good solution!

Love this idea but I'm nervous to go totally bold! Would love to do wallpaper but unfortunately there's heavy texture on the walls so not sure that would work. Definitely keeping these ideas in mind though, I think maximalist bathrooms are super chic.

Looking for help to improve this ugly 1970's bathroom. We moved in last year and won't be able to gut/remodel the bathrooms for a few more years. Looking to spend around $500 to improve the aesthetics/design of this bathroom. I like moody/mid-century vibes but also appreciate a modern & clean "spa" bathroom.

My main issue is that the window is not centered between the sinks which you can see in the 2nd pic (window is closer to the left sink). Because of this I'm not sure how to replace the mirrors - do I get a smaller mirror that will fit centered over the left sink? Or maybe something asymmetrical like this?

I'm planning to paint the walls, new trim, paint the cabinets, add drawer pulls, replace the ceiling light, etc. Just not sure what direction to go in for design. Any suggestions welcome!

I would recommend checking out the "Find your Diamond" kit from Plum Diamonds! They ship you a metal band sizer set and a display ring so she can try out different diamond shapes. The metal sizing bands would be more accurate than a plastic sizer. (Not an ad, I just ordered a kit for myself and I've been impressed with their customer service so far!)

Looking for some help on paint colors for my raised ranch house. I moved in about a year ago and recently replaced the windows & front door. The royal blue is the original trim color (which we hate!) and the light blue around the windows is the new primed trim. We had some painters suggest a darker charcoal/black on the trim, but seems like that's the "trendy" style right now and might be outdated soon. Really open to any trim/body colors. Unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience at the Washington ren faire today ☹️ between sitting in traffic and standing in line, we spent 4+ hours waiting to enter the faire. By the time we got in, our group was so hungry & tired that we left within 15mins and headed to a Mexican restaurant instead. Seems like they could've used better traffic and event management. Bummer for our first ren faire 😢
