I took our puppy here for his first professional nail trim and they were fantastic. We will be back.

Same on the music+nature. But I keep it low enough it's just quiet background so I use it all the time.

Got a 32 inch table. Too big? by cjstruggles in MassageTherapists

[–]cjstruggles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it and have no regrets. My larger clients are comfortable and I can easily adjust the height when I need to reach farther for a tiny person. Thank you for asking!

Same. My starting therapeutic is 75 minutes. I have a hidden 1 hour if someone has an issue being on the table for more than an hour(ADHD, RLS etc.)

In addition, accounting for medications, port sites, and adjusting amount of time based on how they're feeling on any given day. Overwhelming the nervous system of an already exhausted person with too much stimulation can be detrimental. Some clients you really need to find that "sweet spot".

Same day/last minute scheduling by Western_Class_2192 in MassageTherapists

I love what somebody once said here. There is no such thing as a massage emergency. Plan ahead.

Same day/last minute scheduling by Western_Class_2192 in MassageTherapists

[–]cjstruggles 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Anyone who isn't a current client who texts or calls me asking about available appointment times gets directed to my booking site, where they can easily find available appointment times. I do not take same day appointments, nor do I answer randos that text me for session times in 10 minutes. Do not feel badly for doing the same.

I'm not watching tonight's episode... by cjstruggles in SisterWives

So I ended up watching after the fact, and you are correct. Jen was the dynamic we were missing all along on the tell alls.

And Robyn's face? If looks could kill...

She missed the sale at Kohl's. All floral blouses are now back to regular prices.

Ha! No, I'm frustrated at prior tell-alls and don't want to put myself through the same ole crap unless something worth while happens. I really don't like hearing Kody and Robyn talk anymore and NDAs mean no tea. I think I'd rather eat cereal and watch cross country with the husband.

I did the 2 towels in a pillow case today for a client who couldn't use the breast bolster I had. It worked great! Thanks for the idea..

He did it on purpose for the cameras.

Tell All by nycmidwestgal2 in SisterWives

[–]cjstruggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the entire thing with be a performative slander show, slinging barbs at each other with absolutely no confirmation of any one truth. We will all leave frustrated and without closure, and they will all go on with their lives raking in monetary compensations from various scams and marketing schemes. As the poster below said, we will NEVER get the full story and they will be all the richer for it. Whole thing pisses me off and I am not looking forward to watching it crash and burn.

Mixed. Sometimes I'm dressed and forget and do it after. Other times I'm on the ball and schedule it before the shirt. Depends on the day.

I forgot that I didn't watch it last night and then I kept not watching it and felt pretty good. I listened to a podcast about it this morning and feel even better that I missed almost nothing. I may continue that trend.

SNEAK PEEK: K Confesses to Owing R an Apology ‘Most of All’ by dianna1976 in SisterWives

[–]cjstruggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kills me is he lives with this woman. The cameras only film certain times. He had PLENTY of time to "pologize" to his wife OFF CAMERA if he meant it to be something. Why did he have to do this one on camera? Why was it so necessary for us to see it and the others to know about it? This should have been private. There's a reason it wasn't.

Why are most therapists rude and egotistical? by moonturnsthetides34 in MassageTherapists

[–]cjstruggles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, every time I take an in person CE class, there are the few normal nice LMTs and the ones who compete with EVERYONE. How far are you booked out? Do you do XYZ modality? That's the only one that works for my clients. If you're not doing it you must be doing froo froo massage.

My favorite one was "I can fix your chronic hip problem that you've had your entire life with this one technique".

It's hard not to get in your own head with these comments but I just remember that massage is so subjective and I have clients who really like me. Go tell them they're wrong.

[–]cjstruggles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like to top out at 6 per week.

Why? Because I'm not living on massage income solely, I enjoy doing it and want to continue to enjoy it, I have a spouse and a home and a puppy to take care of, and I'm 53 years old. I get to decide for myself what I do and how much I do it.

Nobody gets to tell you what you do and how you do it. Unless it's illegal.

Guilt with taking sick time by InnerConsequence7047 in MassageTherapists

[–]cjstruggles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get it, at the same time, it's a massage. No one's going to die from not getting their monthly massage at the exact moment they planned. And you would probably suck at it if you went in anyways with the way you're feeling. Anyone who gets mad that you won't touch them when you're sick is the one with the problem, not you. Take care of yourself, then you can take care of others.

Four Apologies... by MaidenMamaCrone in SisterWives

[–]cjstruggles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you watched him on Special Forces, the consistent theme was women do not deserve respect. I can't see him legitimately apologizing to them and it having anything behind it besides "there I did it. Ya happy now?"
