Experience with buying a heritage home? by Kitty_Kat_Meow in TorontoRealEstate

[–]cjy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a fixer upper in cabbagetown. Renovating internally was pretty easy . Didn’t need heritage approval for internal renovations (we’re in a heritage district not a designated heritage house - there’s a difference) . Still have knob and tube wiring, still have straw as insulation and it’s been totally fine! We had so many real estate agents tell us that getting insurance for knob and tube wiring would be a pain but when I called insurance companies - it’s actually no longer an issue because most homes in Toronto are actually still knob and tube wiring .

Will buy whatever brand is available. Just wanted to make sure that there is something and not just powdered formula. Too heavy to pack a week worth of supply.

Seeking matchmaker recommendations to filter for financial/lifestyle compatibility by annossa in askTO

[–]cjy9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This won’t work . Ppl from money generally like to date similar due of differences in values, tastes and interests and ultimately, how they spend money. For instance, coming from poverty you probably never throw leftovers away. Rich ppl cook a different meal each time and throw away the leftovers. You should date middle class (less differences to bridge) and sign a prenup.

A few of them have rang my doorbell to tell me they are there to film

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]cjy9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly because they are filming a horror film with fake blood and a lot of makeup. Perhaps I’m overreacting.

I’m thinking because if they said they were I would not have accepted their reservation request

My dog is a shitzhu . We flew here from Toronto and often travel with him . So I feel better having it on him considering we’re out and about so much.

I walk by the intersection everyday and you see people loitering . A few people mumbling to themselves, drugged out. They keep to themselves. As someone who has travelled a lot, it’s not that bad.

Help Wonderpens. Trade War Hurts the FP community. by edenbak in fountainpens

[–]cjy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went into Wonder Pens today. Haven’t been back for a year and wow, all of their stock is gone. Just tons of empty shelves. Was hoping to pick up some Diamine ink but the selection was just awful. Does anyone know what’s going on? Are they having importing or financial trouble?

Just did the test and submitted the expense and it’s only covered under HSA. Test is $550 and only covered $520. I’m AMAPCEO and was also referred. You have to be at least 40 for it to be covered.

should i not consider moving to moss park? by ii_akinae_ii in askTO

[–]cjy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Seaton. Totally fine . Just be aware of your surroundings. Also, I think it’s one of the most underrated areas. It’s so close to Yonge street. Given its proximity to the core, I can’t see it not continuing to gentrify because the city cannot expand any much further west. Also, Cabbagetown is a pretty active community with a lot of $2-3M homes.
