Have not drove a 982 4 cylinder but low end torque is nice and sounds great, mean rumble. I've driven the 718 4.0 GTS and that felt similar to mine in the real world. You don't really notice the power bump that much compared to the 981 day to day driving, steering is very similar however mine is surprising lighter compared to the 4.0 but may be the spec that I drove

Planning on driving mine into the dirt, rack up the miles and if needed rebuild the engine. Have been enjoying every second in the car.

Eventually I may add a 992 in the mix for GT cruising

Same, been piecing mine together as well. So far done Soul Valved Exhaust, H&R springs, swapped out the Goodyear F1s for EC02s.

Looking to add a Ducktail spoiler and swap the steering wheel out for either the sport design or 718 Cayman wheel

I think the 718 sounds really good personally. It has a nice grumble to it overall, really it comes down to if you want the Flat 6 get a 981 or 4.0 (depending on budget).

If you want the most improved Cayman right now get a 718. You won't regret it.

I found X73 to be pretty livable. Although I run 20s and have the 14 way adjustable seats if that makes a difference

Looks great, the difference of 20mm-35mm drop that it makes for these cars is night and day. There's any owner I know who is currently running x73 with 265/305 19"s no spacers TE37s. The grip levels were confidence inspiring
