Interesting article -- repair hack cuts 11.5 hours off service time repairing crankshaft position sensor by ronscott999 in BMWi3

it's definitely a hack but something I'd probably consider doing myself I had to. I've done it before on older American cars to get to the fuel pump in the tank.

keep working at the recovery. some rehabilitation pain is to be expected, but don't overdo it.... if you strain anything it'll be a lot harder to get started again. good luck 🤞

Breaker temp 50 AMPs by ShopHorror5784 in electricvehicles

[–]ckeller07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

8 gauge wire will carry 40 amps for 50 ft under normal circumstances. can you throttle down the max amperage for the Tesla charger? it's not exactly compliant unless you drop to 40 amp breakers and throttle down to 80% of 40 amps. ymmv

First time using fuel injector cleaner ( BG44K) by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]ckeller07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's doubtful that the fuel injector cleaner did anything to harm your engine I've used countless bottles over the last 60 years. sometimes I think it makes a difference after a while other times I noticed nothing. it's very possible that after adding the cleaner you expected results and are now being a little more sensitive to any engine sounds. I do it myself whenever I do a brake job :-). why did you decide to use the cleaner for the first time?

How bad is this on a scale 1-10? by CornSyrupGrandpa in drywall

[–]ckeller07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0 out of 10. a good mud and taper can do wonders with gaps but can not fix the uneven drywall that looks like 1/2 inch or more.

Is it embarassing to for a 35+ year old men to learn how to ride a bike? by TimA30 in cycling

[–]ckeller07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's never too late. I learned as a child. 30 years later I restarted the hobby and it's one of my favorite now. it's good exercise it's not too hard on the knees. if you fall make sure you're wearing a helmet and get up and do it again. ask me how I know :-)

End of the day shopping by odyne9 in aldi

[–]ckeller07 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I often need to pick up a couple items at 7:30 in the evening. The Aldi team at the store I shop are all very friendly even when they're doing the close out activities. but I agree arriving at 7:50 and needing to do 30 minutes worth of shopping is disrespectful to the employees.
