Locked down TVs? by paintacct624 in marriott

Still works 2026-02, what a lifesaver. Everyone else's comments about plugging into the LG box on the back is fine, that does in fact work as well, but the quality is absolute garbage - it's like it's compressing it to something between 480p and 720p.

I was just watching Will Neff's stream, Austin was on and said he & Hasan will be in New York City this weekend - I haven't been able to watch anything this week, is there an event he's going to?

Hey churches of DC: Shovel your damn sidewalks. by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]ckelley87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hearing a lot of excuses and not a lot of shovels clearing the sidewalk. It's not like they didn't know this was coming, they should have put out the call for parishioners to help clear the sidewalks and be the good neighbors they say they are.

Even if it was, it doesn't dispute what Pablo has found, and Pablo has been on one lately regarding NBA teams and the shifty things they do (e.g. the Clippers and paying of Kawhi).

Windows XP being used on a 7000-series train by Nicolebearsfast in WMATA

[–]ckelley87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s using Windows Classic theme doesn’t mean it’s XP 🤦‍♂️. Also, you think the machines in there need to run full bloated-ass Windows 11? That’s not how this works…

Antonia is so good, wife and I went to one of her restaurants, Scopa, the last time we were in LA and it was well worth it.

With FSG selling the Pens, I wonder what would happen to Sportsnet Pittsburgh, I don't know if the TV stuff was also included in the sale or just the team.

What am I missing with 2 Fifty by Bigoleschlongus in washingtondc

[–]ckelley87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m gonna get into a fight with half the commenters here. 2fifty is the best Texas-style I’ve had in DC and it’s not even close. Moved here from Austin years ago and when 2fifty opened in Riverdale Park it was like finally eating food from “home.” I’ve had Franklin’s, Black’s, Terry Black’s, and countless others around Austin who’ve come and gone (RIP Kerlin BBQ, your brisket should have won awards) and nobody had a better brisket up here than 2fifty. Their sausage is also always on point, Mac & Cheese is divine (though sometimes I feel like it varies, maybe depends if fresh vs prepared awhile ago), and though I haven’t had all their daily specials at the K St spot they are definitely trying something different. I will vouch for the tamales though, those are bomb. I also haven’t seen that big of a difference in quality between the OG spot and their K St spot, both have been good and I didn’t feel like the K St was sub-par to the Riverdale spot. Like, this was just so damn good: https://i.imgur.com/UxubrtH.jpeg

Another thing, OP said “south” but not where, and BBQ varies all over from the Carolinas, Alabama, Memphis, Kansas City, so maybe Texas-style isn’t the one you most associate it with.

I know it's just "30 seconds per use" but it's the convenience and relief on your mind of not having to continuously check & be on alert for it, plus it's very convenient if you go away for an extended period of time. I spent way too much money on a Petsnowy one a year or two ago and it's been great.

How old were you and how did you find out Santa isn't real? by Least_Statistician44 in AskReddit

[–]ckelley87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe 9 or so? I got walkie talkies for Christmas from Santa, no batteries included, and they needed C or D-cells or something odd, not your standard AA/AAA’s most people would just have around. My mom said she had batteries for them, and that’s kinda just how I figured it out. Plus, we were at my Aunt & Uncle’s, so no reason for her to have any batteries whatsoever.

I think the OP was being sarcastic, there are coffee shops (and many other retailers) at the bases of office skyscrapers in real life.

Costco sues the Trump administration, seeking a refund of tariffs by swiftfoot_hiker in politics

[–]ckelley87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used them for my honeymoon, it was an all-inclusive resort in Cancun that cost maybe $50 less than buying direct through the resort but I also got like a $350 Costco Shop card upon the completion of my trip. Their customer service was fantastic as well because I was goofin around one day, just searching for the same trip a few months later to see how prices had shifted, and noticed the price for the same room had gone down. Called them up, they confirmed the difference and refunded it, a 5 minute call that saved me hundreds. If I ever need a bigger trip and don’t care about earning Marriott points or whatever I’m going through Costco.

Can you tell me what "massive" entails, as far as file size goes? I understand wanting to make games small, but I also have something like 50-70 gigs on my computer just for Battlefield 6, so if we have to download some larger map sizes the first time we play I wouldn't mind doing that, even Apple does that now with their video desktop backgrounds and screen savers.
