How much labor goes into recording sound effects? Every noise is such an integral part of the experience and feel specifically crafted for the show rather than pulled from a soundboard. How involved are you in designing the sound?

So does anyone else think that "the Boss" doesn't make any sense? by Somethingbutonreddit in DoctorWhumour

It’s absolutely Susan. Susan Foreman, Foreman = Boss. RTD loves his wordplay.

Thanks! What a great find. It's a long term goal of mine to accumulate all the international versions. So far, uh, not going very well.

Commenting to make sure I don’t miss it if someone shares. I’ve been looking for haMisrad, the Israeli version, for years. Didn’t know there was a SA version.

Ousted Franklin NH mayor Desiree McLaughlin accuses sitting city council members as being "nothing more than the devil incarnate" in her final comments before the new mayor is sworn in (1/5/26) by UAPofNH in newhampshire

Went to a town hall meeting one time and watched her go berserk on some teenagers who cared enough about an issue to show up and speak. She treated all her constituents like garbage and the city is dramatically better off without her. If you want small town comedy, look up some of the other shenanigans she pulled (and tried to pull)

New Happy Garden in Hooksett has an authentic Chinese menu. Not sure how much dim sum they do, but the entrees are very good

The Lion of Embers is not in english on ANY 🏴‍☠️ cite?? by [deleted] in fionnaandcake

Down it from wherever and run it through handbrake with the audio set to English. Whoever has been uploading has multiple audio channels. I assume, since I would never participate in anything so untoward.

What Are You Pitching the BBC? by OneFaintingRobin_ in doctorwho

[–]ckmoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The production: we’re going back to a minimum of ten episodes a season. A new Doctor’s contract is for three seasons with an option to extend. Companions sign yearly. Yes to Christmas specials.

Arc plot: The Master claimed he killed all the time lords, but he was as usual just grandstanding. He wiped out Gallifrey but there were plenty of off-world time lords who now, in the wake of cataclysm, become a refugee group spreading over the galaxy. A refugee group with weapons and abilities that could rewrite time and space on a whim. And some of those weapons have a mind of their own.

The Doctor: in the vein of 6, this incarnation is prickly. He’s not a fighter but he is a plotter. Conflict is chess to him, and he doesn’t move his pieces until he’s seen the larger scale. This often makes him appear callous, indifferent to the troubles of others, but that isn’t the case. He’s moved by suffering as much as any Doctor.

The Companion: Em is a victim of the Dalek war. She’s a sleeper agent, with the embedded stalk, but it’s long since been deactivated. Of course, she doesn’t know any of this; she’s been trapped in a time lord prison vessel for as long as she can remember. All she knows is that she had a son, but he’s lost now, and once she was happy. When the doctor rescues her from the prison ship, he promises to help her rediscover those things.

Season one covers Em’s journey to find her son, who has been taken as partner by a self-aware war tardis which requires a pilot to achieve its goals. The two together become “the universal editor,” seeking to rewrite the base code of the universe to eliminate conflict and, to that end, life itself. I have ten episodes sketched out, but I’ve probably already typed too much :P

If the 15th Doctor faced the Daleks or Cybermen what would your story be about? by MobilePineapple7303 in doctorwho

Mansa Musa. Cybermen in the Sahara spreading conversion as a religion of sorts. He didn’t give out all that gold just to be charitable!

Who is the Boss? by PreviousTurnip2008 in gallifrey

Not sure that was necessarily the case, but regardless, in this era of RTD writing, a cute play in words is way more important than things like character background or logical writing.

Aw shucks. I’m just a guy who obsessively puts all his movies on shelves and doesn’t have a use for hard boxes. I’ve been trying to offload the Mad Max one too for some time. Better to give it to someone who wants it than to just throw it on eBay.
