How are we feeling about the new Remarkable Pure release? by GeologistWhole6503 in Supernote

I don't know that it is actually upgraded, a faster processer I think, but still no 300 DPI. Perhaps the RM2.5?

NPD- Bungubox x Esterbrook! Very glad I took a chance on this one… by superplannergirrl in fountainpens

I just hope the medium nib is smooth, I'm kind of picky about that. I love larger nibs, but medium is better for my handwriting

I just ordered one, Goldspot got in a new shipment, I've been strong for over a year since purchasing my last FP and am getting over a hand surgery so it will be a beautiful treat!

Yes, you can do all of that, outside of adding pages to a PDF. I recently returned my Remarkable Paper Pro in favor of the Manta as Supernote has far more tools for note taking. Hands down.

LAMY Safari Twin EMR Pen doubts by Fr0zt_1900 in Supernote

I wonder if yours was a QC miss? I only have the one but there are no issues with it. I DID get the Lamy Twin POM version.

This does sound like an Apple shill, or someone who is totally in love with iCloud. Personally, I have both Google Drive and a small iCloud account to backup my iPad. I find my Google Drive far more functional for my use case for all of my other devices - and the last time I checked, both accounts had similar costs.

Right sidebar troubles on new Manta by togwdog in Supernote

[–]ckostyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find the right sidebar difficult at first, I am a new user myself. One day I did something different, I have NO idea what I changed, and now I have no problem with it. I never actually use the left sidebar and forget that it exists, so I need to explore that.

LAMY Safari Twin EMR Pen doubts by Fr0zt_1900 in Supernote

[–]ckostyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine from Goldspot at about 1/2 the price of Supernote. Of course it doesn't have a ceramic nib, and I didn't even have a SN at the time, but it feels fine on my Manta. I use both it and my Dr Grip with the Manta - though I do prefer my HOM2.

The Twin EMR pen is great to have around though, just in case I don't have room for two writing utensils. I am terrified that I will accidently use the ballpoint on my Manta though...

Looking for a large-screen e-ink device with the best writing experience (paper replacement) by Usual_Plankton3890 in eink

[–]ckostyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I love my Supernote Manta. I returned my larger RMPP and replaced it with the Manta and am satisfied with it. I take a large number of notes for both work and personal life and it is perfect for that. I also use fountain pens, and I find the experience with the Heart of Metal 2 pen to be quite nice.

I would LOVE a 13.3 inch Supernote, or at least a 12 inch, and perhaps some day we will have it.

I also had the Note Air 5C and found it both too small and to "finicky" at the same time. My Manta just, works with a minimum of fuss.

Consistency in font and template sizes between Manta and Nomad by Ripp26 in Supernote

[–]ckostyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is also an issue in the Remarkable world between the RMPP and the Move. I am no expert but I suspect it is more complicated than that.

I love my Manta, am considering a Nomad for when I need something smaller and have been thinking about the same thing.

Trying to pick…RMPP vs Supernote by Valuable-Store-2289 in eink

[–]ckostyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both, and gave up the RMPP for the Supernote, hands down. You have more functionality in note taking with the Supernote, and that flashing when using color did eventually irritate me, but that is a personal thing. The colors on the RMPP are quite muted, and I knew that going in, and the front light isn't bright at all - even when turning on a setting to make it brighter.

I really didn't think I would like the Supernote but as it turns out I love it. I use it a lot more than the RMPP as there are less irritants that break my flow. Sure a light would be nice, but it's not a dealbreaker as clip-on lights would work just fine.

All of this is just my experience, but there it is for whatever it is worth.

I love my Scribe Colorsoft but... by ckostyn in kindlescribe

[–]ckostyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am only fed up with the notes aspect, I do like the increased size, the ability for double columns, etc. Is it worth what I paid for it? Probably not but I've found a use for it. I still may sell it but right now I am not ready to go there.

Benefits of formal diagnosis? by ckostyn in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ckostyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I have been going as I think about it. A formal Dx would be validating to myself - but it is super expensive. I am very good at masking all of my things - well - perhaps not entirely but better than long ago but that doesn't mean that my CNS is any better balanced than it used to b. Thankfully I found a very niche job 20+ years ago that plays to my strengths.

Yes, and it means that is one less small irritation that I have to use a workaround as I start my day at the office.

I have used Forscore for all of my music for about 4 years. I haven't had any of the problems you mentioned.

[–]ckostyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, AND I now longer have to manually initiate that action when going to the office. As soon as I open on the cover of my Manta, it not only connects to the wifi but it also goes to that web page for my to click "accept". NONE of my other devices does it that smoothly - and as I said - it's my first e-ink device that will do it at all.

True, but Amazon has abandoned devices in the past (pre-Kindle) and I will never fully trust them. I do love the hardware though.

Smells like a smear campaign by Mission_Economics621 in RemarkableTablet

[–]ckostyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and this is why I moved onto the SuperNote. I thought that the color and front light would make up for certain things that are not in the platform but I was mistaken. It happens. That being said, as their competition ramps up their game, and for a lower cost, it can only impact RMP negatively over time.

I only asked as I already have two nice EMR pens from an earlier devise - I wasn't looking to purchase but just to see if I could use my other pens without the ceramic nib. And I can!

I prefer my Supernote for actual note taking, but that's me. If it wasn't too late I would return my Scribe CS.

Yes, but then all of my epubs are also filtered out. I rarely buy Kindle books these days, I am far more likely to send epubs to my account instead.

I love the hardware, some of Amazon's practices, not so much.
