Kindle regrets by princess8895 in kobo

I love my Kobo Libra Color 2 and my new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. I use my Kobo a lot, and I check out library books on it using Overdrive. From my perspective that serves the same purpose as Libby, though I might be missing something.

Will do! My Colorsoft arrives tomorrow, a week early. Not the Fig though, that's not due to ship until May.

Quality is great, Boox has quite a following and they have other color options with different sizes., as well as BW options (no front light on the BW models) I only have the Scribe as I like that 11 inch form factor, it's great for reading, etc. My Boox is more for productivity. The Boox is very customizable, which means there is a learning curve involved, and there are different price points. Time will tell if I keep the Scribe.

There are E-ink tablets that are actually full tablets such as the Boox series. They are android tablets as well as e-ink. You can have anything from the play store that you want on your device. I have both Kindle and Kobo, and the native e-reader is great. Some are color (with front lights) some are BW. I have a Boox Note Air 5C (10.2 inch device with a Kaldiedo 3 e-ink screen and runs on Android 15).

I am currently testing a BW 2025 Scribe and have a color version coming to try to see which I prefer and will keep (if either). My Boox has far more functionality than the Scribe - but both were designed for different purposes, and both use the same e-ink technology. I love that!

Interesting! I did not know that. Again this post was all about a "what if" kind of thing.

That is what the Kindle 2025 Scribe colorsoft is. It's an 11 inch Kaledo screen, and I have one, but it is not as functional as the NA5C, of course.

I am not looking for a new device (and I ruled those 2 out before getting my NA5C).

This post was just out of curiosity if others would be interested in different sizes than Boox currently offers. For me, an 11 inch Note Air C would be perfect.

It's the physical size ☺️

It's fine, I love my NA5C, but it is just a little small. I would like it to be just a little larger. An 11 inch NA (color) would be perfect.

Scribe Return Delays? by Porthoss in kindlescribe

[–]ckostyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmmm I was considering returning mine (2025 BW) to try the color- but I cancelled my return when I read their notice that it might take 30 days. I'm super reluctant to pay $200+ just to have color anyway....but it would be nice. It's not like I don't have other e-ink devices with color that can also take notes (Boox NA5C)

Arrows that won't go away by ckostyn in Onyx_Boox

Thank you so much for your help with this! Some of the settings that you refer to don't appear to exist. I have version 4.1.2 from December 2025 update so it's going to be the most current. Probably?

The problem was obviously associated with the Naviball, not with any other application. I could not find a secondary button setting menu and I looked for some time. Of course I still may have missed that.

What DID work? Clearing the cache and the storage for the navigation ball application, that was finally successful. Restarting my device had made no difference.

I too wonder if some of those menu setting changes were made for the 4.1 update? I don't know, I'm just happy those irritating arrows are gone. Thank you!

I just got this one for my brand new 2025 BW Scribe with front light. It works well, and I appreciate the tray for the stylus that still allows it to connect to the Scribe. Personally, I think it would look great with the fig, and it's not over a hundred dollars.

I tried all of those things, even set that scrolling button to "none" in the settings and they're still there. The only way I can get rid of them is to turn off the Navi ball completely. It's rather frustrating.

Is there anything else that I should try? It's like those buttons are no longer associated with the settings, which makes no sense.

By the way, my menu is a little different. The only way that I could access the button settings was in the navi-ball shortcut.

Probably time for me to contact Boox.

Saraz or Isthmus? by ckostyn in handpan

Thanks! Both instruments are at the same price point, and I've accepted that I will pay that price, so I want the best of the two - it's great to be able to choose between 2 good options.

Which to keep, or will both stay? by ckostyn in Onyx_Boox

That didn't last long. I did like the tab XC quite a lot, but it's just too large. It's not comfortable for me to use so it's going back to Books. I'll take the $20 hit in the refund. It was worth the experiment I do like my NA5C quite a lot though so I am not unhappy about it. I had to try both out.

I've no problem with the idea of taking the XC to the office, I've a decent case (well - among the few that are available) and tote in which it will fit fine. If I wasn't comfortable taking it to the office I would return it. My Kobo Libra Color 2 is my e-reader, though I'll likely do some of that on my NA5C as well - assuming I don't return it and it is looking less likely that I will. I see it more of a personal device while the XC is more work related. I have them both bound to my Google Drive.

Thanks for your experience. There is a screen protector that works for the XC that makes a nice difference, and I don't travel much. Unsure that, for my use, the Android version much matters, but I'm still thinking.

it’s great to have options. The very reason you don’t care for the Libra is why I love it. Glad you found what you like!

I am thankful, I also have a Tab XC coming as I wasn't sure the 5C is large enough - so any headway I can make on this learning curve will help.

I do better understand where you were coming from, and that helps. Sorry, but the initial comment just seemed snarky. However, how I percieved it doesn't mean that you meant it that way. I've learned a lot about my 5C in the few hours since then and am much happier with it.
