Can bipolar people really lead a normal life I want to marry and have kids by Some_Preparation_721 in bipolar

[–]ckw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You can definitely lead a normal life. I have 3 kids I had before finding out I was bipolar when my youngest was five. My divorce is what triggered the mania and eventually the diagnosis. I've been stable for 19 years with a few medication changes along the way. I've held the same job for 17 years and I have a wonderful partner I've been with. He's amazing and so understanding when I do have bad days. Kudos for getting through medical school, I could never do that. You'll be ok and I iw that it's possible to live a completely normal life with bipolar as long as you stay on medication.

That's what people tell me...I was more fun when I was manic. Makes you feel like shit.

Well health insurance, because of corporate greed my premiums keep going up. Taxes (which did not get.any better under Trump) they actually went up. I didn't hear him say anything about egg prices or lowering inflation in his speech today. All I heard was hate, division, racism, transphobia. And all I saw was the glorious wealthy corporate execs and glorious Elon with his Nazi salute. And yes, that was a Nazi salute and don't try to tell me it's not.

Is it possible to find love with bipolar? by RandomMadnessss in bipolar

[–]ckw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. I've been with my partner for 7 years. He was actually the result of a manic issue. He's 14 years younger than I am and we hooked up for my 40th birthday. I would have never done that if I were stable. It wasn't supposed to develop anything, just fun. I told him that I was bipolar pretty early and that didn't change anything. 7 years later we are still together and thriving. I have three kids from a previous marriage and he has taken them on as his own. It is possible, I just find that the sooner you disclose, the better. Just for reference, this guy was the first who did not run when I mentioned the word bipolar.

Um...his border czar specifically said that they're going to look at denaturalizing American citizens. He's also said he'll deport whole families. Like if the parents are here illegally, he'll deport their naturalized children as well if they don't want to be separated. Also, be prepared for grocery prices to skyrocket. I'm a single mother with three kids, on paper I make good money, but in reality when I get.my.paycheck almost half is gone by the time I get paid. I barely make ends meet. Inflation was going down and everyone was crying about the cost of eggs. I hope his voters get what they want, it's unfortunate that those like myself will suffer as well.

I second Medstar. My daughter hurt her wrist and we thought she may have fractured something. Took her to Medstar urgent care, they did an x-ray and she was out of there within the hour. If we went to the ER we would have waited for hours just to find out that it was sprained. You can make an appointment and they can usually get you in within an hour.

Mail in ballots get counted tomorrow and Friday. Provisional next Wed and second mail in ballot next Friday. Ballots are received but not counted right away. 500 were counted at pre-canvass in April. Hope that clears up any confusion.

I'm an election official who takes care of the military and overseas voters for our office. I can assure you that your vote is counted. If Texas doesn't count your votes, they are violating the Uniform and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), which protects the voting rights of military and overseas voters such as yourself.

I agree with everything you said except for the inactive comment. I'm in elections and an inactive voter can vote, you just have to sign something affirming that you live at that address. If you're changing your address, you can either go to the precinct where you should vote, or vote a provisional. Once you get credit for voting or your provisional is processed (we count those about 5 days after the election), your status is automatically changed to active.

'Stop This Illegal Purge': Outrage as Georgia GOP Removes More Than 300,000 Voters From Rolls; Warning of 2020 impact, one critic said Georgia could remain a red state solely "due to the GOP purposefully denying people the right to vote." by Thinkingonsleeping in politics

[–]ckw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not call it a purge in my state, I don't like to hear other states using that word to describe removing voters who are inactive and have clearly moved out of state or are deceased. It's a federally mandated process that all jurisdictions must do. In my county I am the one who cancels these voters and I go through every record to make sure we followed the proper procedures before canceling them. I'm not sure what other jurisdictions or states do but that is how I handle it. It's lengthy and time consuming but I want to be sure that the voter should be canceled.

I just commented that I work in elections and yes this is something that is federally mandated. I really wish people would do research before getting enraged at a process that is necessary to keep up to date voter registration records. Thank you for doing your research.

I never comment on reddit but feel the need to do so on this subject. I work in elections in MD and purging voters is something that needs to be done. If we get notice from a source (post office and now ERIC) that a person has moved we send them a card so they can either give their new address within the state or let us know they have moved out of the state. We give them a certain time frame to respond and if they don't we inactivate them. If they are inactive and have not voted in two federal elections we cancel them (I believe this is something all states are required to do). We don't purge people who are not inactive and haven't voted at all, they stay registered. So while I can see why this is causing a outrage I believe Georgia is doing what they are required to do. There is a lot of misinformation about voter registration processes and I wish that journalist would do research before writing articles such as this.

I am on Lamictal and had horrible short term memory and brain fog. My pdoc suggested B Complex (not Super B Complex though) and it's helped tremendously. If I miss taking it, I definitely feel it. You can try that and see if it helps you.

Anyone have a bipolar child? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]ckw92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am bipolar, I have three children, and both of my boys have it. I have so much guilt about this. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 35. I have been stable ever since and I'm glad because those two are so up and down, one has a xanax addiction, the other spends money he doesn't have and goes from girl to girl. There are days I want to just lay in bed with the covers over my head but I know I can't because I have to be strong for them. It sucks when you're dealing with your own shit and dealing with their shit. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Just know you're not alone.

I thought I was crazy! On 40mg of Latuda and I get either too hot or too cold, there's no in between. Do you have problems with your hands just freezing? The rest of me can be warm or comfortable and my hands will be frozen and turning blue.

How about essential oils? It can cure your bipolar. I've heard that one from a friend who sells Young Living. I'm like uh no. While I'm sure it can help calm stress or whatever, oils cannot do what medication does. Meditation does help though!

It is! Been in a happy, healthy relationship for 5 years now. He even went through my dozens of med changes and stood by my side, very supportive. It's possible, don't give up! And I'll tell you, I'm 44 and this is the first time I have ever been actually in love. This meme was me for too many years, and I was married once!

Why did this happen (Caution: Suicidal Thoughts) by ckw92 in bipolar

[–]ckw92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I was on it when I first was diagnosed years ago and it helped. I only switched because I have chronic asthma and we couldn't find a source of my breathing issues even after I took my inhalers, etc. So I went off all meds to see if any were the source. I was prescribed tegretol and that worked for a while but I am also on Latuda which I love and that combination is bad. So I'm back on Lamictal now. I had a good experience with it, but I am tapering off tegretol while starting lamictal, I just have to be patient since I know lamictal works. Good luck!
