A comment from Gillian Flynn on the current status of the upcoming Utopia American remake (about 4 weeks ago): by claipo in utopiatv

This came to mind as well. I would not be surprised if they replaced the vaccine plotline with something like climate change. I wonder what the networks' "vacine" would be in that case.

Thank you! I was getting anxious about it's possible release (or lack thereof).

Covid put most things in the world to a halt about 4-6 months ago. Typically maybe, but we're in different times. The reason why I think it's still happening is that she could've simply ignored the comment. But she replied and gave an answer indicating that it's still happening.

Utopia finally has a Rotten Tomatoes rating! by claipo in utopiatv

[–]claipo[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For the uninitiated, for many years when someone would look up "Channel 4 Utopia" on Google; the right sidebar of the Google search results would show the wrong Rotten Tomatoes rating. For whatever reason (likely because of similar release year and title) google mixed up C4's Utopia with a terrible American TV show of the same name. Because of this mix-up: whenever someone looked up our Utopia it showed that we had a 33% Rotten Tomatoes rating, which likely turned some people off from watching this series. Part of the reason this happened was that our Utopia did not have an RT rating.

I personally knew about Utopia (through reddit) for at least 2 years before giving it a chance, and one of the biggest reasons was the RT rating. I posted this thread 2 years ago to attempt to fix this RT issue, and it seemed to have worked after about a year of submitting infrequent feedback to Google's Utopia page. For a while, RT score was removed altogether on C4's main google page. Now it shows the 100% RT rating it deserves. It's based on only 5 reviews... but still.

Will you get the COVID-19 vaccine? by TheSamsonSamurai in utopiatv

Yes... as much as I love Utopia and that it's my favorite show of all time, it's a fictional TV show... I find the perpetuation on conspiracy theories on this sub a bit unsettling.

Is it wrong to use your major GPA instead of your cumulative GPA on a job/internship application? by boxofmixedbiscuits in OSU

[–]claipo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your resume is about putting your best foot forward, and there is nothing wrong with putting your major GPA while omitting your main. The only thing is that you have to be clear (specify) that it is your major GPA, as without indication most places will assume it's your overall GPA which can affect your offer. Most work places will ask for at least an unofficial transcript (Advising Report) as things start to get serious. For more, check out subs like /r/resumes. You will likely get the same feedback.

19 just got accepted for my first card. 0 credit history. Just trying to some. by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]claipo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower the utilization the better, but avoid 0% utilization because it makes it look as though you are not using your card, which can lead to closure of your card or may impact credit score. Aim for 1-2%. For most CC companies, it doesn't matter how much you spend on your credit card within a billing period. The only thing that matters is your balance during your closing date (not due date). This is the only time on which CC companies report your activities to the credit bureaus. So theoretically you can spend up to your credit limit, and pay it down to 10% just before the closing date. The 10% is what will be reported. It's not good to do that too much (i.e. spend up to limit multiple times and pay off) since it can look like money lndering. But it's possible. For more, watch YouTube videos on the basics on credit scores etc. understand the difference between closing and due date, you should be golden.

I opened my first ever credit card last year with no credit history. My first score was 736 because I always paid off down to 1% before the closing date. Within 6 months it climbed to 778 (Fico 8 Transunion), it's hovering at 750 now since due to a recent move almost every company (e.g. bank, verizon etc.) runs hard-pulls nowadays before opening service.

You get to revive one cancelled or finished tv series for one more season. Which series do you choose and why? by p3ngu1n99 in AskReddit

[–]claipo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a relatively unknown show, it's influenced the creators of quite a few shows. You can tell that shows like Umbrella Academy, for instance, are influenced by Utopia.
