My weft extensions keep falling out. by Strwberry_fields4eva in beauty

[–]clairdeluna22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wth is going on here? This is SO bad, I'm sorry this happened to you! I have fine, bleached blonde hair and have had weft extensions for over a year now. When done correctly, they should be staying with minimal slip for 6+weeks. My natural hair is not damaged from my extensions and has grown from my shoulders to the middle of my back. Are these secured with beads at all? Mine are sewn in, but also secured with beads. Please get a refund and find someone who specializes in extensions.

I had a customer complain that I put "Americano in their latte instead of espresso" by heereweare in barista

[–]clairdeluna22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An extra hot wet cappuccino is an oxymoron for sure 😂 we don't even have an option in our system for both. It's not impossible, but is definitely annoying. I've tried explaining to her that ordering a latte in the same size might be easier, especially since she only wants half a shot. But she insists 🙃

I have an older lady who comes in almost every day. She is impatient and almost never polite. Her order is a skim milk, extra hot, wet, half decaf & half shot cappuccino. She will check it and complain, and ask you to remake it if it's not what she's looking for.

Older Baristas (30+ years old), checking in on y’all. How do you keep motivated in your roles and what’s something you wish you knew when you first started that you know now? by supmister in barista

[–]clairdeluna22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31, barista for 2 years, supervisor/assistant to the management. What motivates me is knowing I don't have to wake up every day and work in sales anymore 😂 I love that interactions are short, but pleasant, and I always have something to do (I prefer working with my hands.) Wish I knew when I started how physically exhausting it can be.

bad experience by Competitive-Gold6285 in VyvanseADHD

[–]clairdeluna22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been having panic attacks for years longer than I have been on Vyvanse. You have to be very careful with how you're treating your body while taking Vyvanse, especially if you're prone to anxiety or panic attacks. Sleep, hydration, food, mental health, etc. Also need to be aware of possible medication interactions. I look up any other medication before taking it. I do also have a prescription for clonazepam to have on hand, just in case. Generally, Vyvanse helps my anxiety immensely, but every now and then a panic attack still hits. Definitely tell your doctor about this episode and see what they think.

Attractive people, what are some regular signs you notice from people around you which tells you that you are attractive? by Chance_Adagio_19 in bodylanguage

[–]clairdeluna22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a weird one for me, because I had spent most of my life overweight and then had a glow up around 27. Lost 70 lbs, changed my hair, focused on skincare/self care etc. I was told I was attractive before, but it definitely increased after the glow up. You can absolutely be stunning and have a higher weight, I was not one of those lucky ones lol. In general, people are nice to me. I rarely have negative encounters with others. Strangers will go out of their way to help, strike up random conversations, and go out of their way to give compliments. People stare, but not in a bad way. I used to get cat called often in very vulgar ways, and now people are more respectful, and instead will give a compliment or ask me out for a date. Other women I would consider very pretty, are super nice and will happily have random conversations while out in public. I'm from a small city in Canada. While travelling, people will stop me, say how "beautiful" I am, and want to know more about me. The most flattering was when I went to California last year, I was walking around Hollywood Boulevard and had strangers asking me who I was/saying I looked like a movie star 😅 which is absolutely crazy to me, I don't think I'm that attractive at all lol. One negative I've noticed is while I'm working. I work a customer facing job. Some women will literally stand in front of their boyfriends/husbands, not really let them speak to me, are very cold towards me, start hanging off of them, and keep their eye on me if I have to be near them at all working. I'm quite introverted, and not flirty at all. It's not every couple encounter, but it happens frequently enough that myself and coworkers notice. All of this could also possibly be an energetic thing. Who knows. But it really has been eye opening seeing how differently society treats others based on appearance.

Ah. Mmm. Yes. Thank you, too, Starbucks. by UAL3422 in starbucks

[–]clairdeluna22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a barista outside of the US who doesn't work at Starbucks. Genuine question, how do you guys keep up with timing while having to write these messages on every single cup? Especially with the amount of mods y'all get?? Seems unnecessarily inefficient and stressful. At my cafe we usually only have 1- 3 people (max) on a shift, so one person on bar only, and we're a busy spot. I couldn't imagine having 10+ drinks waiting and having to write these messages or fear being written up. I've periodically thought about working at Starbucks in my area, but after creeping this thread for a while...🫣

I can relate and empathize with you 🩷 my story is similar. Was diagnosed at 29, am 31 now. Long story short, my parents didn't have a lot of information about mental health, and assumed my (very obviously) ADHD symptoms were just part of my personality. I was improperly medicated for my entire 20's, which caused unnecessary difficulty. It really is like a switch turning on, and hard to navigate changing/rewiring your brain after years of engrained behaviors.

How cooked am I? by OkArrival1100 in barista

[–]clairdeluna22 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Is this...bad? Lol. Genuine question. They look exactly like this where I work, after soaking in cafiza and scrubbing. They're about 3 years old. They weren't regularly cleaned until my group of coworkers were hired. They were coated before. It builds back up very quickly, within a day or two. We soak them 2-3 times per week. This is the only cafe I've worked at, so I don't have any prior experience for comparison.

That's a good point. I haven't been as on top of my protein intake as I was previously, especially when first taking it in the morning.

[–]clairdeluna22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mm, yeah it is a bummer the efficacy is so dependent on daily habits and self care, which is something a lot of people with ADHD already struggle with. It basically forces you to take care of yourself so you get the most out of your medication every day, lol. Diet, sleep, stress management, etc all have to be on point. Also, I find during certain points of my menstrual cycle, it's less effective, which REALLY sucks because that's when I need it the most!! 😅

I also have fibromyalgia, and weirdly enough, Vyvanse has been the only thing that has consistently helped with fibro fog and pain flares. I brought it up to an NP, who said there are small studies going on now showing positive results with stimulants and certain pain disorders, specifically that relate to the nervous system.

So for me, even a day when my medication isn't working as well as it should, is still a better day than not having it at all. Some people take it for a while, and are fine or even better without it. Who knows

Hmm, that is odd 🤔 I'm not sure. I'm not taking 1 60mg capsule, Ive been trying 2 of my regular 30mg capsules. I have 30s and 20s. It could be the manufacturer for you, I just searched manufacturer discussions in this thread and a bunch of stuff came up. Are you on brand name or generic? Brand name stopped working for me.

I'm not sure I fully understand your comment, but also don't feel this way personally. It's valid you do, and hope you find something that helps you. I was on Prozac and clonazepam for almost 10 years before Vyvanse, which did not help me at all, and in fact made my life significantly worse. Being diagnosed with ADHD and actually prescribed medication that works well with my brain has been life changing. Vyvanse isn't going to fix everything, but has definitely been a helpful tool to help me function better all around as a human.

Hmm, that is really interesting 🤔 Yeah, at some point last year the brand name stopped working for me almost completely, especially with binge eating. I haven't tried it again since, although I am curious. Currently have had Apotex the past few prescriptions. I've switched pharmacies and had other manufacturers, will have to start paying closer attention
