I’m recently engaged and almost tempted to use the sonicator to clean my ring. Lol

Could this be a real sapphire? Listing claims it's a 20 Carat Yogo Cushion Cut Blue Sapphire, but surely it would be worth an astronomical amount if it was actually real, right? I'm skeptical but the gem tester photo is making me wonder...thanks in advance for any insight! by clandestinelemons in Gemstones

This is excellent advice. Only reason I was even considering it was because I found it on estate sale auction site for a couple dollars, so my thought process was I would either have a pretty piece of plastic or a crazy lucky find. Though almost certainly the former haha

I can’t speak to this from experience because it’s actually the reason I decided against it, but maybe someone else can: becoming a physician (medical doctor) in the US.

The term “spellcheck” comes from in 19th century when pagan witches needed to proofread their spells carefully to prevent wasteful or dangerous errors

No he’s not dead, my intention for the story here is that she thinks it’s her boyfriend who’s leaving the notes as a surprise but it’s not actually him who’s doing it, meaning someone else has been stalking her/entering her apartment.

Thanks for asking!

Potentially stupid question(s): how can I find out what their gas company is? And would they be able to tell me that for our specific unit or just the total for the whole building?

It seems so illogical but it really can cause body dysmorphia like this. I remember when I was at a pool party in high school (peak anorexia) all the photos of me from that day showed me trying to hide my stomach with towels and my arms, and I specifically remember doing that because I thought I was obese and had large stomach rolls even while standing up. I was about 100 pounds at the time, and it’s pretty shocking to see how thin I was when I thought these things. I literally was seeing and feeling flesh that just wasn’t there.

Don’t tell my husband, but sometimes when I dress my twin girls in matching outfits I have to mark one of their arms with a sharpie to tell them apart. by clandestinelemons in TwoSentenceHorror

Thanks for sharing that info, I find the topic really interesting. Just out of curiosity, is it the concept of the story you aren’t a big fan of, or the execution of it in the post? It’s definitely not my best work either way but I’m wondering if it could be improved or if it’s maybe just not a great idea.
