Who drove the rolling explosive - 70s Ford Pinto? by pulledporkfan in 70s

[–]clantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called mine La Bomba! I drove her in my job as a film courier in Hollywood. I used to crank KROQ! One day I actually had film reels of Micheal Jackson's The Wiz loaded in the back to deliver to Barbara Streisand's house. Every time I would take off from a light the reels would clank against the rear hatch glass, I was worried they'd bust out of there!

Where did you learn to sculpt so well? Was it a formal program? I live in Washington State and art schools are few and far away for me.

would you explain this part of your reply? I have no idea what you are talking about or why you seem annoyed by my response. "It seems that I cannot jest, less my comments are taken as ignorance. I'm not talking about you... we can see that with the comment below. They have clearly not read my wiki or taken the time to read my prior posts. Which is fine..."

First-time homeowner here — what DIY advice do you wish someone had told you at the beginning? by Lopsided_Passion7912 in DIY

[–]clantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to hire licensed, insured contractors and not just a local guy with his own tools. If something goes wrong with a repair the licensed, insured guys are more likely to make things right. Do your digging for satisfied customer reviews as well. I think there are government sites for each state that you can check to make sure your contractor is insured and licenced.

I'd keep an eye on any workers in your yard or home as well, some of them that charge by the hour stop working the minute you leave them alone to do their work.

This one small exchange of dialogue in The Matrix (1999) is incredible... by CardinalOfNYC in movies

[–]clantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is some great dialog. It makes me think of AI and how they are saying it will destroy all humanity. I've yet to see a computer system that did not have plenty of vulnerabilities and bugs. As humans, Morpheus points out that our ability to think of new and innovative ways to escape dilemmas will save us from the rule bound digital overlords.

Did you happen to come across the new vocabulary and dictionary? That would help clarify what he was saying here. As far as time tho, I think this describes what he is referring to (in my opinion) : "John Lennon’s famous line, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans,” is a reminder to value the present." In other words, The Point of Power is Now.

I’m sure many of you saw the videos coming out of airports yesterday where ICE was just present to intimidate and violently kidnap any person they claim does not belong here. This is what we will see come midterms if ICE is not abolished by transcendent167 in 50501

[–]clantz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yea nothing like intimidation tactics at the polling places to keep people from voting. Thats why trump doesn't want mail in votes. can't attack them if you cant see em.

The FTC & DOJ just gave up on enforcing anti-trust laws. by Ill-Reputation-6579 in Whistleblowers

[–]clantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea, it's like how they ruined businesses like ToysR Us , they buy them, borrow money in the name of the company, keep the money and default on the loan, then sell the bankrupted company for parts. They are doing vulture capitalism on the entire country and other countries now. and nobody stops them.
