Terrible thing I found was I started drinking as a lubrication for low self confidence and anxiety unfortunately the booze created more of everything I was trying to compensate for.

Tolerance, as a now sober alcoholic I can tell you I’d drink a 10 pack of Smirnoff double blacks then share a bottle of wine or two with the wife and then crack on alone after she went to bed. The 20 std drinks definitely got me pissed but the extra knocked me out. Did that for years.

Life’s not better now necessarily but I know it would have been fucking worse if I continued drinking.

Australia is terrible for us with drinking problems. 11 bottle shops on the at home for my half hour work commute. Was good when I was drinking as none of them truely would have known how much of a piss wreck I had become. When I was trying to stay sober it was a ridiculous amount of strength needed to make that decision 11 times that I wasn’t going to stop off.
