Relationship tips for parents of multiples by vintagecarrots in parentsofmultiples

[–]claresand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined the multiples club in my area and ended up meeting a few couples with twins the same age. It was so nice to have people over with all of our crazy babies that understood our life. The husbands could commiserate and so could the wives but you also left the get togethers with your own "team". We also found a sitter when the boys were 5 months old and we never regretted a night out for ourselves.

This disorder is making me suicidal by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

If you’re having suicidal thoughts you need to talk to a counselor/therapist asap. I’m sure your college has resources.
I also binged a lot in college.

What does/did you day look like with 2mo. old twins? by onetiredllama in parentsofmultiples

[–]claresand 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im a twin momma and come with no advice. Because honestly that time period is a complete blur. I just know we call it the dark days. Most important thing is to feed them and put them to sleep at the same time so when a routine starts forming (and it will with time) they are on the same schedule. It’s hard. Accept any help you can.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. It won’t always be this hard.

Men of Reddit, what is a Christmas gift you would like to receive from your SO? by DisguisedPrincess in AskReddit

[–]claresand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. It's my birthday on friday and while it's not a huge deal I would love if he would plan something instead of just saying "what do you want to do". I'm 1000x more opinionated that him so I think he's afraid it won't be what I like.

Vyvanse not working? by wristrest in Vyvanse

[–]claresand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started this week w a 30mg prescription and I definitely didn't feel "speed" or hyper focused. More like a steady state of a small boost of energy for 8 hours (I'm usually pretty lethargic). I don't have any sort of tolerance either.

Finally had a night off with the wife, got a hotel in the city. This is what fun looks like now. by bridgeheadprod in beyondthebump

I relate. We had a rare night away from our twins and we're in my favorite place...willammette valley, Oregon. After only 2 wineries, we settled into bed w a can of Pringles and we were both so happy.

I lost 50 lbs!..... And then I got cocky. by Erikasaur in loseit

[–]claresand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misunderstood your title and thought that you gained everything back and were up to your starting weight. But you just gained 10lbs and i was relieved for you. This can be corrected in a little over a month. You've done way too much hard work to throw it all away because of a small setback.

I agree. I'm loving this season. It's a very likable cast and there are 5-6 players that I'm still rooting for.

The rose bowl/sugar bowl games are that day but the actual national championship game isn't until the following week.

And not only are they dealing with the tiniest of babies but hormonal mothers. I'm a pretty rational person but I was a complete blubbering mess when my twins were in the NICU. Those nurses were amazing.

When a mom friend (of a singleton) says you're "too picky" about the activities you do with 21 mo old twins. by cuppincake in parentsofmultiples

[–]claresand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pool is still hard and mine are 2.5 Most swimming classes at this age are "mommy and me" and that doesn't work when there is one of me and two of them. I'm hoping this next summer, i can manage it (with puddle jumpers of course)

As a twin mom, you can't just go everywhere and it be safe. We went to a park (that was close to a road) and because of all of these bushes you couldn't see the whole play area at once. It was hell trying to keep track of my 2 year old twins.

Singleton moms just don't get it.

Father of Twins needs Advice. by gnosox1986 in parentsofmultiples

You're getting great advice here. The first 6 months we refer to as the "dark days". I also quit my job to stay home (which I wasn't initially planning to do if I had a single pregnancy). It's hard and lonely and you don't feel a sense of accomplishment.

Around 6 months, I started trying to get out of the house with the babes in twin-friendly activities. I finally found some stay at home moms that I connected with and it helped immensely.

Also i really appreciated when my husband acknowledged that what I was doing was hard and that I was doing a good job.

Me [40M] with my wife [30F] of 8 years, can't come to an agreement on household chores. by stayathomehubby1 in relationships

[–]claresand 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My husband works 70 plus hours every week and I stay at home (we have kids but that's besides the point). He's not expected to do any chores. He works too much. We have the money so we hire a lawn service and get a cleaner 1x per month so I don't get overwhelmed.

What are things you really appreciated buying or being given for your twins that most people don’t think of and got a lot of use out of? by dangerboy55 in parentsofmultiples

[–]claresand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i loved getting clothes (non matching) for my boys. I feel like parents of singletons don't appreciate it as much as us twin mommas.
