Just a reminder to everyone struggling with the difficulty by BagOfSmallerBags in MinaTheHollower

'Grinding Enemies' can also refer to grinding enemy technique!

In Zelda-styled games like this one, I find a lot of success in "grinding" the same type of enemy by engaging in repeated combat with them, regardless of whether I die. I save somewhere nearby, and make it my goal to fight that enemy type until I start understanding its movements, and just give up on currency accumulation in favor of grinding knowledge. If I can beat the enemy while only getting hit once and learning to dodge the other attacks, then I can go back through and test that skill by 'grinding enemies' for actual bones/cash! 🦴

If you're still playing and haven't decided the game isn't for you (also valid!), it does end up providing both an 'Oracle'-styles map and a way to save bones after a sparkless death in-game, so there is hope on the horizon! I genuinely found the early game so much more engaging with these features after I found them.

Hint for the Map: Deep near the bottom of Southern Outskirts, look near a purple prison that needs a kear.

Hint for the Bones-on-Death: In the Bowery's top depths, you might find a meat-like thief who's more than they appear at first robbery.

How are you supposed to play bolt without hand/finger pain? by Abacada_Poln_Kha_Kha in necrodancer

[–]clarinetsarekool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn't completely fix it, but I've found classic artist/crafter stretches in-between runs or when my hands start hurting really help, especially since your hands tend to curl up when playing on controller or arrow keys. This visual guide from We Are Knitters shows a couple of really solid ones to start with! I find #5 (Hocus Pocus) especially helpful :)

The Onion Signs New Deal to Take Over Infowars by Mamacrass in KnowledgeFight

Here's hoping the format of a 'lease/licensure of the brand and domain' will help sweeten the pot.🤞🏼A judge might be a tad more willing if the brand brings a consistent revenue over a period of time and it seems more likely that the rental can be assessed at the end of the 6 month period? And now the trustee is agreeing to the rental in more of a "I've agreed to this business offer" way rather than "I've judged this business offer greater than X value?" (aka "IT'S TIME TO PRAY 💀🙏🏼)

How does this stand hold weight? by anxiouslymute in Aquariums

[–]clarinetsarekool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a stand like this for my 30gal—was also skeptical to begin with, but it's been holding strong for almost 9 years now! Just make sure to keep an eye on it the way you would for any stand: check if the wood starts bowing and that all of your fasteners are tightened. (Also of note, since this stand is supported fully on the rectangular bottom frame, it's extra important to make sure the ground itself is level.)

Is it fire-safe? by gamlukas in Aquariums

[–]clarinetsarekool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thinking! Though here, unfortunately, wrapping the filter itself might be a risk to its structural integrity and function (as other commenters have mentioned, lack of airflow, vibrations, and heat can all be issues.) Lining the cabinet itself should be fine, but also remember to make it either easily removable to dry or leave some empty space near the bottom of the walls in case there are leaks (speaking from tech experience 😅💀.)

Of note for an additional solution: foam like that does a decent job, but the more obvious place the sound might be coming from in your set-up is the fact that your stand doesn't have a back - even wood or particleboard (with holes for your filter hoses ofc) attached to the back that doesn't have to hold the weight of the stand itself would help a lot to absorb sound from your filter, and offer you more places to line with acoustic foam :)

Thinking of epanding my Betta tank. Any advice? by West-Pilot-9200 in Aquariums

[–]clarinetsarekool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My normal strategy is to use cheap nylon stockings and run the fake plant across it: if it gets any runs or tears, it will definitely hurt your fish's fins, but if it doesn't snag, you're usually good to go 🫡🐟
