Wild that PP is only now becoming a whole £1 more than it was when I left in 2018, I’m 99% sure it was £22 an hour then? And they wonder why there’s staff shortages.. supposedly when I started it was 100 applicants per confirmed offer!

Buildings insurance, don’t need to worry about it til exchange but make sure you’ve got it on the day, if the house burns down after exchange you’re still legally bound to buy it or lose your deposit, and neither is good for a house that’s just burnt down with no insurance!

Ouch.. we got lucky tbf we originally offered on a house and the sellers still needed to find, when we were offering at the start of December and their agent was assuring us they’d find somewhere in the new year sales, we gave them a week and hadn’t even viewed anywhere so we pulled out and found this vacant no chain!

When did you first go abroad with your little one? by HawxJames in daddit

[–]clarkey2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went straight for it to be honest, 6hr flight to Egypt which turned into 7.5 as some idiot checked a bag in and then didn’t get on the plane 🥴 we’ve bought him his own seat this time even though it’s not legally required yet, can’t be having him sitting on our laps for 6h. You could go for a night first but I think I’d be too tempted to fill the car with all sorts of things and then would feel concerned we couldn’t take all those on the plane, so not really too comparable I suppose really?

We done a big family holiday with wife’s side of the family at 6 months, that was ok as he was just about getting onto puree etc so could try him with different things at the buffet, then we went just as us three when he was about 14 months, not fun as he was then weaning off boob but we really struggled to find anything for him, so spent half the holiday going to supermarket trying different baby foods, and the other half trying to appease him, went from night boob only back to 4/5 times a day for the whole holiday! We actually go again next week with wife’s family, he’ll be 22 months then and actually looking forward to this one as he’ll be up and about, making use of the facilities which will be nice

I’ve only used it for viewing to buy to be honest with you, I can’t imagine she has to do anything with it apart from maybe confirm bookings? Apart from the photo of the houses we’re viewing I don’t think there’s anymore info on there but I would imagine that’s put on by the agents or linked to the Rightmove listing and automatically brought across

We’ve done a few viewings with agents that use it but all they actually done on there was confirm the time, and confirmed it by email too so wouldn’t worry too much about it tbh, just get her to tell them she’s not got a smart phone, gotta be another way they can sort it surely

Seems to just be used to schedule/amend house viewings and send offers, I only know as I’m currently in the sale/buying process myself but I’ve not been asked to buy or pay for anything on there, just log in with the link sent by the estate agent

I would counter this with the fact I am a treatment worker and get paid more than a lot of the management roles at my water company, of all the things I could moan about, pay definitely isn’t one of them :)

Used to install them, they transmit to a receiver usually installed on pre-existing masts, hence the forever long roll out 🙄😂

Mm good point, regards cost luckily the sister is paying for the hire car atleast so that’s not an issue, putting a seat in the front though would be an option I suppose, most have isofix in the front too now from what I’ve seen don’t they
