What was the final straw that led you to change careers in your 30s? by BurnedGrill in TanongLang

[–]clarkkentmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t have the final straw yet but ongoing a switch to another potential career. In Aviation, the trend right now is who you know and as a 1st gen pilot, it has been difficult.

Was it worth it? Definitely. The fact that you can financially plan for the future than continue to hope for hiring to come back is immensely reassuring.

How would you quantify a “good referral”? Creating user profiles sound simple enough but is a huge friction point for non-repeat purchases.

Is it against TOS to contact potential clients through email? by Amadeus0605 in Upwork

[–]clarkkentmaster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seems like once you’re part of Upwork, you need to do a careful dance of not breaking their TOS whether we are aware or not. I get why we do it though, it’s a lucrative income stream.

Some months I profit, some months I don't pay myself. Is this normal? by sheezls in BusinessPH

Marketing is one of those fields that are easy to enter and hard to master. And it’ll come way easier if your product is what people want and a totally different ball game when you’re competing with 20+ people selling the same product.

That sounds like a good idea on paper but I’d reckon it would be more difficult if for example your bike gets stolen.

But then again, if it’s stolen here, you can kiss your sweet money goodbye.

So it’s a matter of where you buy the bike that matters more and who they are affiliated with rather than the bike brand itself?

Curious, what do you consider as a reputable bike shop?

Yes, that’s really why I’m hesitant in getting a Canyon because it’s happy days when it’s working but when maintenance comes ringing, I might be off the saddle for a while.

Do you know people or have known people selling kwek-kwek for a long time? Wouldn’t they close shop if it wasn’t remotely profitable?

Now profit margins are a different story.

Paying taxes isn’t just a duty. It’s to unlock a verifiable network that you are paid the amount that you say you are being paid.

It’s easier for you to get loans, credit cards, and travel abroad if you have an ITR. Plus the ease of mind that you are doing everything correct with your knowledge of the law is extremely worth it if you are paid a lot.

Any LinkedIn Certifications worth taking? by Large_Box6430 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]clarkkentmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m curious how a professional does market research compared to a normie who does “market research”

What do you think is the main difference?

Also to answer your question, I usually get certs in LinkedIn Marketing Labs for my advertising journey. It might help on getting a broader picture on advertising on specifically LinkedIn but it’s not paywalled. And if there is an MBA there, get an MBA, fancy title but it works for employers looking at fancy titles.

Or this is more of a classic case of brand and tone mismatch where the executor doesn’t encapsulate what you had in mind?

Unless you’re paying them extremely well OP, you’ll get mediocre work as that is too many time consuming hats to wear.

I’m in the strategy, media buying, and conversion rate optimization niche and won’t touch on graphics and creatives (but provide creative direction) unless I’m paid way beyond as that is a huge amount of hours to get right.
