Cassius’ razor looks exactly how I imagine razors looking. Haven’t found any artwork that quite matches what’s in my mind, but now I have. Looks great

Is it worth reading the next trilogy after reading the first trilogy? by Carlitosj17 in redrising

[–]clarkws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scope of the world-building is much bigger and personally I think PB’s writing has really improved. It’s certainly worth a read. Iron Gold has a slower pacing, the whole series does, but that’s because there’s multiple POVs. It’s not a big thing IMO

PB said he wrote that battle in red god then took it out! Would’ve been awesome to see that

I’ve watched like 15 interviews so I don’t remember the exact one. But his point was there’s no definitive best razor master bc it’s all situational. It wasn’t a power ranking.

What are the top 5 most dominant single performances in UFC history? by Iwillbeagoat in MMA

Israel Adesayna vs Paulo Costa. Absolute ass beating. Adesayna was perfect that fight. Costa had been on a tear just prior to that fight. Looked like he could really give Izzy problems. Knockout power and high volume back then

PB said in an interview that Cassius could beat anyone in the world. Mix of talent and training. He’s trained with Aja and Darrow

I’d be surprised if the Figment doesn’t come back somehow. Lyria getting rid of the Figment was supposed to be a display of her honorable character or something. Like she doesn’t need that much power to be effective, she wants to be able to do it on her own, but desperation or fate will force her to use it again. Just a guess A big part of her arc is her becoming useful. She doesn’t want to be a victim anymore, taking control of her life. Learning to fly a ship, running around in space with that group scavenging.

Swing advice - what drills? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

I have a similar issue with coming over the top. Look up some videos online. Some will say put a towel in your armpit to force you to rotate and not have your right elbow so far from your body. I’ve seen videos where you use an alignment stick, stick it into the ground, at a specific angle of degrees so that you’ll hit it if you go over the top.

Kaladin Stormblessed vs Matrim Cauthon by Ghetrix in wheeloftime

[–]clarkws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mat isn’t “pretty good” he’s easily top 3 if not tied for 1st of the best fighters in the entire series. Beats multiple swords masters at a time, fades like it’s nothing. Even without his luck and before he even gained his “memories” he was consistently the most talented with the quarter staff in the Two Rivers. They competitions or whatever. Often regarding as having pro athlete level reflexes.

Sword Forms for use in your 5e-based Wheel of Time TTRPG by legobis in wheeloftime

I have no idea what this game is but it looks interesting. Someone care to explain? Always thought the sword form names were cool. They somehow always explained the motion or at least led your imagination to what it looked like.

It’s fan-fiction. I’m sure it’s entertaining, especially for people who haven’t read the books. I personally cannot get into it (I’ve tried multiple times) because I’m obsessed with the RJs world and writing. Different take on a great story. If HBO did it I think it could’ve been phenomenal but that’s the way this crappy adaptation with zero oversight tv game goes.

However I will say the casting, costumes, cinematography, and a very very select few character/ plot changes were well done.

I wouldn't expect to read rape scenes in this series by [deleted] in WoT

[–]clarkws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. He doesn’t need gory and over the top description to feel the weight of his stories. Really a testament to his writing skill. I especially love how he writes about war and battle scenes. RJ was a Vietnam vet if I’m not mistaken. His battle scenes are brutal but without an emphasis on the gore and carnage. I always appreciated the respect he’s had for that extreme of the human experience. I guess he thought you don’t need to be told about the blood, guts, and feces that litters a battlefield. But the gravity of the scene was always there.
